same thing happend to me. In the end i went bach to the shop and replaced the cd's. and all was ok with a new set. As yours mine where straight out of the box. Take it back to the shop and get a replacement. looks like your cd's are faulty. i personally would go with NAT and set up my own DNS server, which does caching for the internet and resolves the hostnames internally. I use that on my LAN which is a mix between windows and unix and it works great. I had tye same problem on RH8. I solved that by modifying the hostname to a fully qualified one. GNOME and KDE are both graphical interfaces, which are looking much the same. which one you choose is your choice. I personally use gnome. to find out what your diskusage are, just type df -k, and it will tell you. to remove pragramms, just do a rpm -e , or go to the packages menu and untick the openoffive. _ On the move? Probem with scsi - card aha1510
I am running redhat 8 on an intel 686 pc. The scsi-card as in adaptec 1510 isa card. when i do a modprobe aha152x io=0x140 irq=10 i get an error. a dmesg gives the following result: aha152x: BIOS test: passed, detected 1 controller(s) aha152x: resetting bus... aha152x1: vital data: rev=1, io=0x140 (0x140/0x140), irq=10, scsiid=0, reconnect=enabled, parity=enabled, synchronous=enabled, delay=1, extended translation=disabled aha152x1: trying software interrupt, lost. aha152x1: IRQ 10 possibly wrong. Please verify. I verified the io and irq to be correct. As i read on the internet it happend before. Is there any fix for this? How would i compile the driver myself from source?
