I have such an RPM. SRPM at:

ftp://public.simkin.ca/apt-root/7.3/SRPMS.simkin/php-4.3.3-1.rh73.src.rpm

I'd recommend rebuilding from this source RPM as my actual RPM's are linked
against newer versions of PostgreSQL, etc. and use extensive optimization
flags that you may not want.

This SRPM has XSLT support. You will need to get the sablotron and js
RPM's from the same repository to build using those flags. RPM's
at ftp://public.simkin.ca/apt-root/7.3/RPMS.simkin-i386/

 Howdy

   I'm trying to upgrade my RH 8 server from PHP 4.2.2 to 4.3.2

   To configure the PHP code, I need to send it through Apache's apxs
   perl code. It is used to build shared Apache 2.0 modules. It does
   not appear on my machine, though it appears that it was run during
   the previous PHP install.

   How should I add it to my machine?
   mod_so.c is running in httpd.

apxs comes from the apache-devel RPM. Probably you're missing that.

A better subject line might attract better responses, eg apxs on redhat 9?
or something like that? Cheers,

These rpms are also installed:

php-pgsql-4.0.1pl2-9
php-4.0.1pl2-9
php-manual-4.0.1pl2-9
asp2php-gtk-0.75.5-1
mod_php-4.0.1pl2-9
php-ldap-4.0.1pl2-9
asp2php-0.75.5-1
php-imap-4.0.1pl2-9
php-mysql-4.0.1pl2-9

And, I need to maintain these configure commands:

'./configure' '--target=i386-redhat-linux' '--prefix=/usr' '--with-config-file-path=/etc' '--disable-debug' '--enable-pic' '--enable-inline-optimization' '--with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs' '--disable-static' '--with-exec-dir=/usr/bin' '--with-regex=system' '--with-gettext' '--with-gd' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr' '--with-png' '--with-zlib' '--with-db2' '--with-db3' '--with-gdbm' '--enable-debugger' '--enable-magic-quotes' '--enable-safe-mode' '--enable-sysvsem' '--enable-sysvshm' '--enable-track-vars' '--enable-yp' '--enable-ftp' '--without-mysql' '--with-xml'

I figure if I just run 'rpm -Uvh php-4.0.6-7.i386.rpm' that should fix it But, it fails with these dependencies:

error: failed dependencies:
 libcrypto.so.2 is needed by php-4.0.6-7
 libcurl.so.1 is needed by php-4.0.6-7
 libdb-3.2.so is needed by php-4.0.6-7

 php = 4.0.1pl2 is needed by php-mysql-4.0.1pl2-9
 php = 4.0.1pl2 is needed by php-pgsql-4.0.1pl2-9

Most of those dependencies are installed by upgrading the system to 7.2 which I cannot do because it's a remote site.

There must be a way.
