It works in Win98 w/o having it in the BIOS, but Linux has to have it in the BIOS. I just had this same problem the other day. I just had to enable the parallel port in the BIOS. Try recompiling your kernel with Parallel Printer Support, and Parralel Port Support switched ON (as apposed to off or loadable module) i had a similar problem setting up a friends Box and that did the trick... How is the port configured? Have you tried EPP instead of ECP, or maybe Bi-directional instead? Dear friends: I have a new motherboard, an Intel SE440BX-2. RedHat 6.0 does not recognizes lp0, lp1 or lp3. I tried reinstalling, but it still does not recognize the ports. What can I do?
