Yes you need to update `plasma-wayland-protocols` to the latest release.

Plasma 5.24.90 is now released

This adds plasma-remotecontroller, a non-GUI module to translate various
input device events into keyboard and pointer events.

It needs 1.7.0 of Plasma Wayland Protocols.

It drops kwayland-server which has been incorporated into kwin.
