[Repeater-Builder] Re: Spectrum Communications

2004-05-09 Thread Coy Hilton
I called them a few months ago to get some info about crystal freq
to get a pair cut and.yep there still there. Now if you wand a
device that looks good and is a spread spectrum transmitter ( not by
design) and looks good and performs like it was designed by someone
that knows nothing about RF then buy it. It will give you many hours
of learning experiance by trouble shooting it. If you decide to send
it back for repairs you will learn not to give Spectrum your credit
card number.

IN SHORT STAND CLEAR of ANYTHING that says SPECTRUM on it.

73 and good luck !

I was at a hamfest a week ago looking at a Spectrum SCR1000

still in business, I said that I thought not. He claimed that they
are still advertising in QST, I can't find the ad.

Anyone know the real story on Spectrum Communications?

[Repeater-Builder] Re: hello- i have a question

2004-05-09 Thread Bob
The repeaters discussed here usually refer to voice radios. A
repeater receives a two-way radio signal then re-transmits that
signal, often at higher power and from a higher place. A repeater
is usually used so mobile and portable radios can communicate over a
wider area. These repeaters would not normally be used for
extending Internet data connections.

their products are a good example of animal excrement and should be avoided
as if it is the plague ridden. thanks for the favorable advice on this one.
