Hi

As far I I can remember the 38 only did ctcss where
the 38A did ctcss and dcs.

You may want to check that the 38 had 94.8 hz tone
missing , it has been quite some time since using the
38 .

[Repeater-Builder] Maxtrac's FS and...

2005-06-24 Thread Doug W7FDF

Because of my
repeater design/building interests and having a few extra radios laying around not being used. I have several rigs available
that I want to pass on to the group first, before I list them on eBAY. Also, normally I do not like to list items for sale
on ANY list but because we all are experimenters and look for the BEST deal
around. I’d rather have these items go to a Ham Op. Plus I NEED the cash
to pay for my major repeater project I spoke of earlier and really don’t
want to spend 4-6 days on eBAY “waiting”
for a winner. One email to me will make YOU, that winner!

#1 Maxtrac D34 UHF  16 channel
25 watt with mic, mtg
bracket 5-pin external Motorola speaker attached  asking $100.00

#2 Maxtrac D44
UHF    6 channel 40 watt
with mtg bracket and mic
and 16 pin plug attached asking $110.00

#3 Maxtrac D34
UHF    6 channel 25 watt
with mic, mtg bracket 5-pin
external Motorola spkr attached asking $100.00

#4 Maxtrac D34
VHF    6 channel 25 watt
with mic, mtg bracket
16-pin plug-this is a 2-meter rig asking $100.00

NOTE: The above Maxtracs have been programmed for the Ham frequencies and
work very well. If you require programming I **WILL ONLY** reprogram the radios
to the Amateur Radio band and to the frequency and PL tones of your choice.

NOTE: I do not have
the dc power cables for the above. Indeed these units were tested and verified
to work on my workbench. Matter of fact two of these radios were used as Remotebase
radios and connected through the 16 pin external jack [RSS programming] on the
respective radio. There are **NO** mods in any of
these radios.

ADI  AT-400
UHF HT with a decent battery [12 volt 600ma] and the matching ARC-12 Desktop
Rapid Charger with Users booklet. This is a 5 watt portable  asking $100.00

Kenwood TW-4100A
dual bander mobile rig with mic…no
mtg bracket asking $130.00 I may have the complete
Service Manual in the Qth and if found, will throw in
the package [free]

Radio Shack HTX-100
10-meter SSB/CW mobile rig…in mint condition with all accessories asking
$80.00

For info on the
above ADI and Kenwood rigs go to: http://www.rigpix.com/index.shtml

For info on the RS hf rig: http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc38/38131.htm

Please contact me
off the list at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
for more information.

Final NOTE: The
above items will be listed on eBAY Sunday morning so
you have a couple of days to “think” about the goodies I am
offering. I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Doug W7FDF

Vail, Arizona

PS: The Maxtracs make real nice Remotebase
radios and simple to interface to your repeater.

PS: Method of
payment: PayPal or US Postal money order ONLY….thanks!

[Repeater-Builder] Re: how broad are cavities? 150MHz cavities on 450MHz

2005-06-24 Thread skipp025
Yes and no... for the most part they will work
just fine as 3/4 wave cavities. The fly in your
soup is the loops or probe lengths.

While 150Mhz loops will actually work at 450MHz
(not very well) there is a best practical loop
target size.

The best way to use your 150MHz band pass cavity
at 450MHz is to tell me/us which brand/type/size
it is and we'll give you the loop size for the
450MHz version. Shorten your loops or better yet
make new loops and you'd be ready to rock and
roll if everything plays as expected.

[Repeater-Builder] Repeater Controllers FS

2005-06-24 Thread Doug W7FDF

Greetings from Arizona:

This weekend I will
list four repeater controllers for sale on eBAY. A little
history on each first:

1]  NHRC-2  wired and tested bought on eBAY last year but never hooked up. Details can be seen at http://www.nhrc.net/nhrc-2/  asking $65.00

2]  NHRC-4
wired/tested and was used in one of my repeaters. Details can be seen at http://www.nhrc.net/nhrc-4/  asking $80.00

NOTE: I made the offer
for the above two items to one Ham in the UK
this morning and if I do not hear from him by Saturday evening [PST] or anyone
from this list. I will post to eBAY first thing
Sunday morning.

3]  Link Comm
RLC-1  I bought this controller from
another Ham last summer and was assured it was tested, in use at one time on a
repeater. I paid $150.00 for it so I asking in return, what I paid for it. No
this controller is **NOT** the RLC-1 Plus board. Details can be seen at http://www.link-comm.com/controllers/rlc1.htm  asking $150.00

4]  ICS
Basic Repeater Controller  I bought
this also last summer but did not install it. Details can be seen at http://www.ics-ctrl.com/basic.html  asking $40.00

So to better
understand the madness on why I own so many repeater controllers and not using
them. I buy and sell on eBAY not as a business but
because I design and build repeaters and remotebase
radio systems for the Ham community and for myself. I just finished building a
new 900 mhz repeater and
currently designing what I call, a **SUPER** Remotebase
system [6 radios including HF] along with a 440 UHF repeater. The ultimate in a
repeater system! These will be my own repeater systems. So I need the cash to complete
these two projects. That’s the bottom line folks.

If no one [on this
Repeater-Builders list and I will **NOT** cross post this info] shows interest
in the above then eBAY shall have my items and the winning
bidder takes all! So make me an offer **I simply cannot refuse** and we’ll
both be happy. If interested PLEASE reply off the list to my email
address at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
