[Repeater-Builder] Back up......

2008-08-16 Thread Kevin Custer

The list is back up.Enjoy!
_/Please keep it under control./_

This list is nearly 10 years old. I have only had to do this one other
time.
Thank you to the good reliable membership that tries to help hold things
together. For the others, I hope you have learned a thing or two.

Since we were on vacation, some group members thought we weren't going
to return (like I'm going to hold back a 4000+ membership !)
Anyway, you are all invited to join JOHN MACKEY'S new group. See the
details below.

Regards,
Kevin Custer

Since the Repeater-Builder yahoo group has been shut down with no word
of if or when it will be operational, I have started a new yahoo group
called building-repeaters. The idea of this group is for intelligent
provocative discussions about building repeaters to happen on this new
group without the temper tantrums of the moderators.

Please feel free to join and tell all your friends about it. When
sending your join request, please say something about ham radio or
repeaters so I know you are not a spammer.

thanks! Below is a link to the website for the yahoo group.

2008-08-16 Thread Mung Bungholio
I have setup a forum for repeater builders. This is not meant as a
replacement of this group but as an enhancement and a way to have discussion
threads without having to have everyone on the list get a 1000 emails about
stuff they don't care about. If anyone wants any new forum groups started
let me know.

[Repeater-Builder] WTD - 220 bandpass cavity

2008-08-16 Thread mroden
Hello RBites

I think I posted this previously, but still lloking for a 222 MHz bandpass
cavity/filter. It is going in front of a pre-amp, so it does not have to handle
any TX power.

Direct replies appreciated.

Thanks

I bought one a few years back from I think it was FAR radio.
It was new still sealed in the box from back in the 1960's
A plugin module for a military radio that is adjustable.
I use mine for with a transverter. I bet it would work great
for you.
I know where I have it stored and as soon as this
thunderstorm passes I'll get the information. Until then try
FAR radio website.

[Repeater-Builder] TX-RX 66-88 MHz Cavity to 6 Meters

2008-08-16 Thread Joe Burkleo
Has anyone ever converted a 66-88 MHz Tx-Rx BpBr cavity for us on 6
Meters? I came across 2 of these and I could get them down to 57 MHz
but that was about it.

Thanks,

Mike,

There's one on a well-known Internet auction site... Item #290253777043
http://cgi.ebay.com/TX-RX-220-Mhz-Repeater-Duplexer-REAR-Model-28-52-02A_W0QQitemZ290253777043QQihZ019QQcategoryZ96966QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Not sure if you want to spend the $800 he is asking for the Buy It Now, or
what the reserve amount is. But it hasn't been met yet.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] TX-RX 66-88 MHz Cavity to 6 Meters

2008-08-16 Thread Jim Brown
I moved a couple of 400 mHz cavities up into the 450 band by removing a couple
of large washers that were welded to the end of the center rod.  If your
cavities do not have a large washer on the end, or have one that can be
increased in diameter by soldering a larger washer to the existing one, you
might get yours down into the ham band by adding a larger  washer.  The washers
in my cavities were silver plated along with the center rod, so that might be a
problem for you, but worth a try -
