The device you want is a receiver multicoupler. Plus appropriate
filtering ahead of it.

[Repeater-Builder] MSR 2000 repeater help

2010-05-05 Thread ac2cs
OK, I've got a MSR2000 base station but according to the model number the board
is the duplex board and it seems to have all the needed parts to be a repeater,
i cannot figure out the jumpers on the back as of right now, any insights?

[Repeater-Builder] Multiple receivers on one antenna

2010-05-05 Thread wd5etd
Sorry for the dumb question but, I have a group trying to add a link at one
site for 5 repeaters. They are not trunked. What is the cheapest way for them
to share 1 antenna? They have a very good DB antenna but, I did not think it
necessary for them to buy 5!

They are out in the country quite a ways. So, there is not much else to
interfere.

I know a combiner is probably the usual way but, I thought there might be a
cheaper way since it is only for receive.

They do not have a tower for the receive antenna but, they do have a
multi-story building. So, feed line expense is not a concern if they use
multiple antennas.

Thanks

RE: [Repeater-Builder] OT: Radius CP100

2010-05-05 Thread Eric Lemmon
John,

The CP100 was available in four models: 1 and 15 channel radios in VHF, and
1 and 15 channel radios in UHF. The one-channel radios have a default
frequency that cannot be changed. The 15-channel radios can be programmed
from the front panel for any 15 simplex frequencies from a fixed menu of 27
VHF or 56 UHF frequencies. The power level, bandwidth, and CTCSS/CDCSS
codes are programmable. The programming procedure is contained in the CP100
User Guide 6804112J99 which, unfortunately, is no longer available from
Motorola Parts.

They are ACSB using the Linear Modulation format, which is not
the same as the SEA ACSB format. In reality for most people they
are now parts units only. I have a manual for it somewhere but
after reviewing what it would take to use portions for more
traditional FM 224 MHz Amateur operation... I passed on putting
any time into it.

Well worth having and reusing the antenna related hardward in
Amateur Service.

Just a note (normally I wouldn't bother, but,) it's "Mitrek". I only say
that because if you search for "mitrex", you won't find much.

The pre-amps used in the "Mitrex" are the same as the MSR-2000! There are (2)
