RE: [Repeater-Builder] Need source for UHF power module
The item is still available from pacparts.com. I would recommend checking the price from an Icom dealer. For even a short time. Is it used in any other transceivers that might be purchased for the module? Thanks Byron NJ7J
RE: [Repeater-Builder] Racom Station Identifier
I see that your IDer is a model 1300 and mine are model 700, however, I received this reply from one of Racom's people that may be helpful with reprogramming any of Racom's IDers: Snip. Good Afternoon Jim: Thank you for the e-mail and your interests in Racom Products. Generally speaking all of the model 700's can be reprogrammed in the field via a PC. However, over the years the circuit boards used in the 700's have changed. Which means a programming kit for one unit might not work on another. If you would remove the lid of each unit and send me the board number & its PROM number I can match up the programming kits ( disk and cable ) needed and match up the correct Service Manuals for each. Or, you could send them to us and we can reprogram all of them. Basically, the cost of a programming kit is: $24.00, factory pro- gramming is: $19.000 and a Service Manual is $10.00, plus the cost of shipping, handling and insurance. If you have any questions please give me a call, thanks again and have a good day. Sincerely, John M. [Repeater-Builder] Quintron low band stations (6 meter repeater potential) available
I have 3 Quintron low band base stations available; they have a 4-400A amplifier (350 watt potential), a receiver, control link receiver ( 932 mhz), digital exciter, control unit (with SWR and metering)and of course, power supply and a transmitter! They are crystaled now at 46.38 mhz. These are in 19 inch cabinets and are VERY heavy. I do have documentation on the transmitter, exciter and amp but not the receiver. Make me a resonable offer. I am in western VA--and can palletize these for shipment.Charlie Bennetch N4LNU (540) 255-1811 (personal cell)

It sure wasn't going anywhere in a crash!! Yup..Radio was a week old - and totally ruined. Dude comes in to the CB shop I was working at when I was 14; wants a CB right now, and doesn't have the time to have it installed. So, we ran the power and antenna wires and laid it on the passenger seat until he could return to have it mounted. He comes back a week later to 'complain' that the radio no longer works. He had taken some time at his delivery lay-over to professionally mount his new radio to the under side of the dash. I went out and saw the bolt heads (with nice washers I might add) on the under side of the case of the radio. He drilled 2 mounting holes right through both sides of the case (and circuit board) and mounted that radio to the dash. It sure looked good, and it wasn't going anywhere, but the radio failed to operate after he wiped out most of the VCO and audio amplifier components with the 1/2" drill bit. True story - sigh Kevin

[Repeater-Builder] RE MOTO R1225 Question
Yes you can drop the power down on the M1225 radio, but it seams that the heat stays the same from most of the mobile units. I always try to look for the LPI radios 5 watt power out and use an external power Amp.. for my mobile based repeaters. TPL makes a nice line of PA's also there is a place here in the Chicago area. http://www.crescendtech.com/products.html?parentId=15 Have a look here for a PA. I have a friend that has a VHF LTR trunking system and he uses these and has a low fail rate. Good Luck... Paul R.
