[Repeater-Builder] IC-RX7

2010-09-02 Thread Chris Fowler
Anyone here have an ICOM IC-RX7 receiver and would not mind contacting
me off-list? I want to figure out what is the best way to organize the
memories. The thing has a weird structure.

RE: [Repeater-Builder] Duplexers

2010-08-31 Thread Chris Fowler
For there to be condensation there must be humidity in the air. The more
humidity, the more condensation.

Duplexers are in harsh environments now and I don't think it has been a
problem. Condensation on the outside of the cans should not cause any
issue for what is going inside.

Since We are on the Topic of Duplexers, And some claim there is no
such thing as a Dumb Question but at the Risk of Asking one I will
take a chance , I have the Wacom 4 can on My 220 System,

The Question I have in a non controlled environment such as No Heat or
 Air

Will the Duplexer have any problems inside with Condensation from
Heating up in use and Cooling down

 Thanks Don

By the time 6.25 has a firm use by date, you'll be looking to replace

LoL. I'm going to throw a joke out here, but by reading the many posts
on here I don't think people are throwing away their old gear and
replacing it with new technology :) If someone buys gear for analog
12.5kHz then I suspect they expect to be using that gear for 30 years.
I have a pile of old stuff I want to put in service.

I'm in the exact same boat working on a remote receiver. I don't want
the link keyed 24-7 either. I now there are some voters out there that
don't require 1950hz and some that don't need it present 100% of the
time to keep that voter port active. But are there any other voters in
the used or DIY market that's in the HAM budget. That do not require
the 1950hz tone at all. Here one I found on RB but I will need
 eventually 3 ports. http://www.repeater-builder.com/rbtip/wb2whc.html
Can one more port be added and has anyone had good success with this
 unit?

What about a Doug Hall voter?
