Save your money and do it right the first time. I ended up buying two off brand used repeaters which I never did put into operation. I finally bought a "real" repeater, a Motorola GR1225 in a GR500 locking cabinet with a large continuous duty fan and hefty power supply. Forget those cheap mobile style duplexers and go with a commercial built one. Also add a commercial community tone board with DCS to keep things orderly.
It was worth the cost. I was very lucky with good friends in high places. My GMRS repeater has great coverage and audio. Fortunately, I was able to get all items off the internet. With Midland Portables and Motorola mobiles, I have a system we can depend on. Dick, K3DML, WPWI669 Yahoo!
