I know most radios have about 50 watts output so the power should be turned down a bit to save that radio and help from people in the area complaining. No, most UHF mobiles are 25-35 watts, as are the radios he mentioned, but that is NOT continuous duty rated as is needed for a repeater. For repeater duty, it MUST be turned down or it will burn up. -- Jim Barbour WD8CHL Yahoo! RE: [Repeater-Builder] I found it
I've used this one before. Works good, last a long time (if you take care of it). RE: [Repeater-Builder] Fan controller
I also have used Airpax devices with great results. Web site explains all about it. Been using them for years. The size of a T0-220 case, handles 1 amp although I prefer driving a fan relay then I can switch anything. Operating temps start out at 40 deg C and work up to 130 deg C in 5 deg steps. Purchase the temp you want. I use P/N 67F040 (40 deg C). The F stands for fan or normally open and the L is normally closed. Stocked at Sager Electronics 508 947-. Sager #AIT67F040. Cost $6.85. I ordered mine thru Inagitron Sales, Langhorn, Pa 215 250-7778. Drill one 4/40 hole in heatsink and install with some temp grease. Airpax makes a lot of different temp control devices. 73, Gary K2UQ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo! [Repeater-Builder] Manual Needed
OK, no laughing I have been blessed with about 15-20 Redicom MX80T 35S radios. As I understand it, these radios when originally designed were in the 900 MHz range and down banded for use in the US. I want to explore the possibility of converting them to 900 RX for repeater use and maybe even use as link radios or even 900 MHz repeaters. What I do not have is the maintenance manual. Some of the radios are already setup for full duplex. If anyone can help me in my search please let me know and we can work out the rest off list. I know they are rock bound but what the heck, it might be fun and I have plenty of time on my hands recovering from a 10 week stay in the hospital caused by a tower collapse on Oct 4th. And yes, I was on the tower when it fell over. 73's Robin N7XGG Yahoo!
