[Repeater-Builder] AWA BS83/RT85 Midland Base or repeater manuals or help Please

2005-11-25 Thread banjupb

I have been around in the game since 1976ish in Australia. AWA branded
radios are a bit new to me. I say that but I do have a m2000 man pack
uhf and a RT80 uhf (both had never missed a beat) that were used on my
old Philips 828 repeater. This why I am looking to make up a multi
channel UHF CB repeater using a BS83 and maybe squeezing it into the
radio chassis not in the BS83 cabinet. I travel overseas (mainly
Africa) from time to time and could use a repeater. I have a few of
UHF Tait Orca handhelds so a repeater would extend the range. I have
tried a 2 antenna system and it works OK so I will not need a huge
diplexer system. Well cutting a long story short.\, I am looking for
some help with manuals and any info that may help. You can contact me
direct at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Cheers

[Repeater-Builder] Antenna system 4 short term portable uhf repeater

2005-08-25 Thread banjupb
Hi my learned freinds.
I am interested if any body has tryed using 3db mobile whips mounted
on a solid ground plain verticaly 180 degrees to each other and fed
with separate coax to rx tx ports. I would use the top whip for tx and
the lower for rx.This antenna would be mounted at the top of the mast
so not to reflect the tx back into the rx antenna. The feeder would be
double sheilded rg214 or similar.
Do you believe this would give me enough attenuation.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Brett

[Repeater-Builder] Rx filter and shinwa radio prog help please

2005-07-06 Thread banjupb
Hi learned friends.
I have a few Qs that you may be able to help with.

One: Can a very good notch filter be made from coax stub as I need
to make one for each of the Aust cb chs approx 500 kHz spacings for
a portable repeater.
I am going to use a TX and an Rx feeder so I will not need a
duplexer for each of the 8 repeater chs.
The idea is to add the stub to the Rx feeder as needed.
I will be using double shielded coax or may be some 1/2 " hardline.

Two: I am looking for info on programming Shinwa 504g and 505g uhf
and vhf Hand Helds.

Three: FS or trade brand new HP aurora Tempo.
I purchased it because I was told I needed it to comply with a
overseas contract and as I fund out later that was a lot B.S.
Thanks
Brett

[Repeater-Builder] Remote monitoring of repeater site

2005-05-31 Thread banjupb
Hello learned group members.
Does anyone know anybody that has a remote site monitoring system, ie
battery state, vswr, entry, generator start, fuel level etc.
I have a site in Africa that has 3 remotes site that we need to
monitor localing and if possible on a dial up modem from here in
Australia.it will need to leap frog thru a parallel telemetry rf link.
I can be contacted direct or thru the group. There was a system that I
saw many years ago but the memory is not that good to go back to a
flyer some 15/20 years ago. I need a solution asap. Cheers.
