I was looking for an alternative to EBAY and I found this site. Only
for amateur radio.
It is new only been up a few days. But, I like the way it looks, and I
listed some items. Didn't cost me anything to list, so I figured what
can I lose. I noticed it is a secure server, so didn't have to worry
about that.
I thought everyone else might like to know about it.

It has a section for Repeaters and Repeater Parts.
www.ventureauctions.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] 220 Mhz. repeater

2005-03-25 Thread forfun

Food for thought.

I have watch this group grow out of control due to ones personal view
point. Hams who have the ability to modify, repair or build equipment
out way the others. Each of us have are strong areas which we are good
at and we leave things we dont know enough about to others that can.
Therefore; buying new equipment and placing it into service is easy but
how much did we learn about it, what just pushing a few buttons, maybe
some type of programming and tweaking a few knobs or pots. There is a
good side to having access to this old equipment that is pulled from
service, hams may get to do what they what with the equipment, the
equipment doesn't end up in a land fill site, and we learn something by
working with the equipment and making it do better than what its
intended use. To each there own, we still put something into service and
it works, but the ham that can repair the equipment will out way the
others who cannot when a real problem arises. Buying cheap radios can be
fun to put in service but there is real satisfaction from this
achievement of the term building.

So whats with all the flame wars here??

We are all here to learn something from one another in this form, and
personal view points should be weighed individually and should be not
taken to heart.. get over it...

Damn can't we just get along?

GOOD Friday

Va3kmc Keith

Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: db products matching feedline question....

2005-03-14 Thread forfun

Some of the cabling on DB products are 62 ohms ... There sites that you
can calculate the impedance of the cabling by measuring the size and
entering it in a table ... do a little research and you will find...

laters
