[Repeater-Builder] 25+ 900 mHz GTX mobiles and other goodies

2009-06-02 Thread transistor747
I have a pile of 900 mHz Motorola GTX mobiles units.. mostly the 15 watt model.
There is also a few 900 mHz Maxtracs in the pile.. total about 30 radios. In
addition, I have an excellent (NEW) repeater antenna for 902-928.. possibly 18
foot tall, fiberglass commercial model.
All of the GTX mobiles have been checked for proper operation.
I sure would like to see this entire package go to some ham club that will use
it.. priced accordingly!

[Repeater-Builder] Re: what controller to use for repeater and link to be installed 800' in the air?

2009-06-02 Thread transistor747
Again, the controller must operate the repeater, and a UHF link.
I'm currently looking at the NHRC-5, and also their Remote+ external DTMF
decoder. The additional decoder will be on an independent UHF receiver, and
will operate as an "ultimate" control for the repeater. Any power cycle will
leave the repeater "off-the-air" until the correct command is sent to the
Remote+, latching a relay and sending power to the rest of the system.
Once burned, twice shy.

[Repeater-Builder] what controller to use for repeater and link to be installed 800' in the air?

2009-06-01 Thread transistor747
I am soliciting input as to the most reliable and cost effective controller to
use on a system that will be installed on a platform 800' up a tower.
Getting back up to the system for service is not easily done, nor inexpensive,
so reliability is of the essence.
The system will be in South West Louisiana.. temps might get as cold as 25
degrees, and as hot as 140 degrees.
Thanks!

[Repeater-Builder] Vertex-Standard VX-4000U mod to 440?

2008-07-28 Thread transistor747
I have a request to provide flat audio from dc to 5k on a UHF link from
a 2 meter repeater.
I've got some new Vertex-Standard VX-4000U radios that would do nicely,
but they won't program below 450.
Has anyone run across a mod to the software that will allow use on 440
freqs?
Thanks!
