[Repeater-Builder] Astron reset circiut

2003-12-13 Thread Jeff Corkren

I'm building the Astron overvoltage reset
circuit that is listed on the Repeater Builder. How can I confirm that the
circuit is working properly ? What is the test procedure ? Thanks
!

Jeff,  With any O/V circuit all you need to do
is lift off the lead that goes to the + output
and insert a 12 volt lamp between that point and
the + output.

Now get yourself a variable power supply and
connect it to the sense lead to the O/V module.
You must not connect the sense lead to the existing
P/S at this point

Increase the voltage to the module until the lamp
lights and you're done !   measure the "trip" voltage
and make what ever adjustments that you think are
necessary.

Spin the potentiometer under the board that mounts onto the output caps,
this should get your voltage to accidentally go too high - turn it down
before you do the reset or it will not go back on for more than just a
blink.
