[Repeater-Builder] CWID

2005-05-04 Thread Larry Kemper

Just was wondering what cwid is available new or used.  I am in need
of a cwid for one of my repeaters.  I normally use the hamtronics diode
matrix unit but they do not have them any more.  I have a RPT10 on the air
that needs some identification so if anyone knows of one for sale or has any
ideas please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the many responses to my inquiry about
cwid.  Now comes the tough part of making the decision which way to
go.  The wealth of knowledge of this group is amazing.

Thanks again

NHRC-2 is about the same money as the Hamtronics CWID was and does a bunch more:

Not the easiest way, but definitely the cheapest: use K1EL's K-ID PIC: $8
shipped. The hard part is adding:

-trigger & timing circuitry so it sends the ID every 10 minutes but only
while the repeater's in use

-audio filter to clean up the square wave output.

I've built a small interface board for my latest portapeater that uses the
K-ID chip. I'm not 100% happy with the result as I was space & time
constrained (had to fit within the multi-freq. area in the G.E. MVP & only
had a few weeks to design, build & test), but it does work. I can e-mail
you the schematic if you like & can even show you the result (will be
spending the Monday after Dayton in the Quad Cities area).

Larry,

Whenever I need an IDer only- without any other functions- I use an ID-8
from Communication Specialists. It is extremely easy to program, unlike
some other IDers which require a factory-programmed PROM. Go here for
more info:
