[Repeater-Builder] Cushman CE3 Docs

2008-04-30 Thread Laryn Lohman

Mine does a fine job on 440. I use it on 6, 2, and 440. I also have
the Operations / Service Manual both printed and on CD ROM..

 Best,

 Dick, W7TIO

Dick, a few weeks ago you uploaded docs for the CE3 to this list in
the Files section. If they are there, could you give me a clue where
they are?

Also, apparently yours goes below 450 mc. Mine will not lock below
that frequency. Any ideas why?

Thanks

Hi, I have a Cushman CE3 that the crystal heater has died on. Does
anyone have a heater or an old CE3 that they are parting out? If so,
let me know price and how to contact you.
Thanks,

Better to replace it with a 10 MHz TCXO with a divide circuit to provide the 5
mhz or 1 mhz
you need. 7490's and a buffer of a 2n.

If Tom needs a 5 MHz reference oscillator, they can be had for under $50 at
www.alltronics.com... I picked one up to use as an HSO in an MSF5000
repeater.

NS Electronics is the closest you will probably find since they are what's
left of Cushman, sort of. Ron Kelly was with the company when it was still
KNS Electronics. When Ron left I guess they dropped the K out of the
name. Ron was one of the design engineers at Cushman and was responsible
for the 7120 line of monitors.

The Cushman factory had an optional kit that became available
later in the CE3 production ... but I don't know where to get
 the info on it.

Ron Kelly was there during the CE-6 process. I know as he walked
me through a factory fix as I did it in our shop during the early
seventies. Our shop had CE-6 serial number 137.

Neil,

He was there during the 7120 process also, I visited the Cushman plant and
talked directly to him about adding a simulcast option to the 7120 line of
monitors. After that option was added the company I worked for bought about
15 of them. All I can tell you is that he said he was the lead engineer
on the 7120 line.

About 5 or so years ago, I had my CE-3 repaired, and tuned by NS Electronics. I was way happy with the results. You probably will be also.

Depends on the module that you have installed in the unit. I have one
comming that is set for the 25 to 50 Mhz range. Then you have the high
band, ultra high band, and so one.
