Was that the antenna that was on your 146.625 Dayton repeater 2 years
ago? I always wondered why it wasn't full quieting at the opposite
end of the flea market while my portapeater on a mag. mount across the
street was solid everywhere.

Hi Bob,

No it wasn't, but it wasn't the antennas fault anyway. I was running a
PC Board (very lossy) duplexer and only exciter power that year and I
didn't have very good results. Last year we had a Micor Mobile
conversion with one of my Hack-Saw 10 watt amplifiers running into a
WP-639 (real) duplexer. The antenna last year was a home-brew 5/8 wave
ground plane (2M only) Had check-ins from 35 miles out.

I am going to attempt to run my Comet SBB-224 (tri band, 2M 220, and
440) mobile antenna and CFX-324 triplexer for the Hamvention
repeaters. If this doesn't work, I'll do something else, likely
install one of our new dual banders. I know they'll work, but not for
220 obviously.

To conserve precious battery power, the 220 repeater will only run
exciter power (400 mW) as this repeaters main objective is to locally
display the new ICS Single M controller.

The 2M and 440 machines are open for anyone to use.
Again, Repeater Builder will be hosting 3 repeaters for Dayton:

146.625 minus 600 kHz, PL 123.0
224.960 minus 1.6 MHz, PL 123.0
443.250 plus 5 MHz, PL 123.0

Kevin
