[Repeater-Builder] Parts needed?
I want to use the fan timer line or whatever you call it...at work and don't have the manualto turn on and off AC fans for my repeater. Have all the fans going into one surge strip right now (for easy turn on and off). Thought I would use a either another extension cable with a relay or build it into a power strip. What parts are need and how to do? Want to throw something together over the long weekend. Thanks, Robert Yahoo! There are 2 schools of thought about this but many folks use a solid state relay for switching 110v fans. Many folks use a mechanical relay. I suppose it's really up to you on which you prefer to use but either method would handle the job easily. One thing about a relay however. You probably want one with a 12 Vdc coil and you MUST use a quenching diode across the coil to kill any inductive kick.
