RE: [Repeater-Builder] VOCOM (or VO-COM?) Power Amplifier Retuning

2004-01-29 Thread Shanon Lee Herron
Hi Group,

I would like the same information for a UHF VOCOM. Took multiple phone
calls and months to get the service manual out of them. What I got was
useless. And I specifically told them I needed instructions to retune it to
the ham band. All I got is what could be considered a specification for
bid. Some technical info, diagrams, no service instructions. Had hook up
instructions.

I would like to correspond with anybody who has retuned a
Vocom PA (quarter watt in - 100 watt out) from the commercial
band down to the 146 MHz range.

Thanks de John

Re: [Repeater-Builder] VOCOM (or VO-COM?) Power Amplifier Retuning

2004-01-29 Thread Maire Company
We have used Vocom amplifiers for may years (UHF) and have been very happy
with them. Get a RMA number and send the unit in. In a very short time you
with get it tuned, any repairs needed, and a cost that will not kill you.
We just got a unit not to long ago on Ebay and had them go over it and are
very happy with the job they did.
The amplifier has been install since we got it back and like the other 6
units we have work fine. We have even sent a unit back to be check and they
could find no troubles and there was only shipping cost.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] VOCOM (or VO-COM?) Power Amplifier Retuning

2004-01-28 Thread Steve Grantham
Whatever you do, be sure to look at the output with a spectrum analyzer. I
once had to deal with a paging company over a spurious transmitter that was
keying up two-meter repeaters all over the South, and I believe, as I
recall, they were using a Vocom amp.
