Re: [Repeater-Builder] ICOM Repeater

2007-06-17 Thread Maire-Radios
ok here is goes.

We are a Kenwood, Icom and Brigecom dealer.

Yes we can sell all three.

We also have a number of our own repeater on the air.

Brigecom is very good in the repeater use and great for ham use.

Kenwood the TKR-840 we have about 6 on line (been taking out Micors) for the
460 to 470 band and they work great.

Icom FR-4000 we have 4 in service 460 to 470 2 high power 2 low power
into a PA's. all we have had no problems with .

The main think Icom told me was they would not support use out of band 450
to 470 on the FR-4000 repeater. Well we have had the repeaters in use for
some time with NO problems all go into TX RX products.

Also have a number of the Motorola Micors repeaters in use and a Kenwood
TKR-850 on a GMRS channel and one TKR-740 on 2 meter use.

If you are using the FR-4000 in the 440 to 450 band please send me info on
how you did it and what your setup is.

thanks John

I have never seen PLL chips go bad in anything. They should only do it
if the voltage regulators are fried and they are over volted. Check
your VCO transistor and buffers.

Replace the noisy PLL LO with a quiet crystal LO. Easy surgery, better
noise figure on receive and less phase noise on transmit. You probably have
no need to have an agile receiver.
