Description: SQL Server Database Administrator The DBA will provide services under general supervision for multiple projects by following the client's project methodology, which is based on Project Management Institute, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The contractor must be able to provide quality DBA work according to project schedule as formally agreed upon by the contractor, the client and the client's customer. The contractor will be required to complete the client's Confidentiality statement, Privacy training and Security training all through our Learning Management System. This training is expected to take approximately 2 hours. PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES a.. Modify/Create/Maintain Stored Procedures b.. Modify/Create SQL Statements and Tables c.. Determine logic from existing SQL Statements d.. Assess and implement database tuning processes e.. Lead the Workflow Update Processes f.. Data management and data problem resolution g.. Other project support primarily related to data and data infrastructure h.. Provide daily status updates on assigned tasks i.. Address issues and change requests according to the project management methodology j.. Some work will be performed outside of normal business work hours BASIC REQUIREMENTS a.. Minimum of 3 current years DBA experience (only SQL Server and Oracle DBA experience will be considered acceptable) b.. Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university c.. Preference will be given to candidates with an industry standard certification Specific work experience (projects, types of work performed) a.. Database / metadata analysis and design b.. Writing and debugging complex SQL c.. Tuning poor performing SQL d.. Backup and Recovery of application databases e.. Writing and debugging Stored Procedures and user functions f.. Writing and debugging views g.. Develop and debug IIS packages h.. Experience with working databases used for web applications i.. Experience with converting Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, text files and other formats into a SQL Server database j.. Experience creating and maintaining tables, indexes, constraints, and triggers k.. Experience using Microsoft Visio to document databases (preferred) REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS a.. Extensive knowledge of SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 b.. Extensive knowledge of SLQ and TSQL c.. Experience with Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer d.. Experience with DTS package designer e.. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration Services f.. Experience with SQL Reporting Server, SQL Profiler g.. Exposure to Microsoft Visio to document databases h.. Experience Creating and Maintaining Tables, Indexes, Constraints, and Triggers i.. Experience with designing, developing, and implementing database applications j.. Ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable language/documentation m.. This position requires the DBA to work closely and support peer-DBAs, systems analysts, and application developers in order to design and develop the most efficient databases possible for the organization. o..
