*Sr. Software Engineer *
* Morrisville, NC*
Face to face is required.
* What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? *
o Applies knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems
o Designing and developing/coding software components including web
applications, middleware and services on the following platforms: Java,
J2EE, Oracle, JSP, Web Services running on UNIX, Linux and/or windows.
o Specification and management of coding, usability and quality standards.
o Interpreting requirements into application designs.
o Collaborating with QA and Business Analysis team members.
o Evaluating and learning new technologies that would provide business
value.
o Ensuring the quality, architecture and accuracy of released code
o Take ownership of the assigned applications.
o Be an individual contributor (very hands on) as well as able to guide and
mentor team members
*What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily
responsibilities? *Java, JSF, Java Script, Hibernate, Oracle, SQL, Eclipse
*What skills/attributes are a must have? *Java, JSF, Java Script,
Hibernate, Oracle
*What skills/attributes are nice to have? *o 5+ years Advanced Java
programming experience with multi-tier web based applications
o Familiarity with source control tools, automated build and unit testing
tools, such as Cruise Control, Maven, ANT
o 2+ years of experience working in Agile environment (SCRUM, Kanban)
o Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX, should be able to develop shell scripts
o 3+ years of Web Service, working experience with SOAP and JSON experience
o Good knowledge of popular JavaScript library, such as jQuery, Angular.js.
o Good knowledge of Java 5, EJB 2, Hibernate, Web Sphere, JSF
o Strong JUNIT skills, Eclipse
o Good knowledge of modern software design patterns, demonstrated
experience in designing.
o Extensive working experience with Relational Databases (i.e. Oracle),
ability to write complex SQL queries and Stored Procedures. Familiarity
with NoSql (i.e. Hadoop)
o Thrives in a fast-paced environment, strong team-player, excellent
interpersonal skills across all levels of management and teams
o Ability to quickly gather requirements, explore multiple approaches and
suggest optimal solutions
o Experience of independently designing and delivering subsystems of a
larger solution.
