We need a high level SQL Developer/DBA for a 1 year + contract in Des
Plaines, IL.  The Client is seeking a SQL Developer/DBA to work with
development groups to enable code enhancements to maximize performance.
They have 2 FT systems dba’s who perform the HW functions on the SQL
Servers – this individual will be the high level Developer capable of being
an SME, creating SQL Development/coding best practices. This is a high
level role, must be a focused database pro – not a DBA or BI developer.



*Required Skills:*



   - Expert SQL 2008 R2 and newer
   - Proxy triggers, stored procedures etc.
   - High proficiency with tools such as Dynatrace, Foglight Performance
   Analyzer, and built-in tools to baseline, identify opportunities, tune, and
   report out improvements.
   - Integrated data movement, design, implementation to support a complex
   database topology.
   - Industry best practices in database design, logic, and application
   development and have a history of demonstrable success in increasing
   real-world application performance.
   - Strong communication skills

Primary environment is SQL and all different flavors from SQL 2000 to 2014,
some DB2 and some Hadoop.

Previous candidates were just not strong enough on the technical side
within SQL, or they did not demonstrate that they were with the way they
answered the questions.



Main areas of focus for him:

Proficient with TSQL

DR within SQL and Oracle

High Availability

Performance Tuning

Testing

Clustering

RDM Server (Stands for Raima which is a database management system)

and Security(more so for the Sr role)

They do not work directly with the customer but work tickets through the
