*Title: Unix Administrator*
*Location: **downtown Washington DC*
*Duration : 6 month contract*
*Duties & Responsibilities: *
· Maintain the operational functionality of the Unix & Linux
servers and Operating Systems (OS)
· Manage privileged accounts on Unix & Linux platforms
· Develop and maintain Perl scripts to ensure that the systems are
running efficiently
· Ability to troubleshoot in the event of a failure
· Troubleshoot and resolve Remedy tickets
· Document processes and administrative flow
· Assess system condition
· Configure system as part of a common authentication and user ID
system
· Verify authentication to existing Unix/Linux/Windows servers
· Evaluate and recommend additional Unix utilities, programs and
updates
· Install/update approved UNIX utilities and programs (Perl, PHP,
Python, etc.)
· Work in a dynamic, team environment
· Other duties as required.
*Required Skills:*
· 8+ years of substantial experience in Unix system administration,
implementation and management in a large-scale enterprise environment
· Active Directory and/or LDAP management experience required
· Microsoft Windows 2008/2003 Servers, including multi-domain
models and trusts, DNS, WINS, DHCP, hosts and LMHOST configuration desired
· Provide troubleshooting support, RPC and name resolution
troubleshooting, Unix and Windows connectivity troubleshooting in an
enterprise environment
· Experience with HP iLO (HP’s Integrated Lights Out – remote
server management) desired
· Experience using Remedy as an Administrator and/or a user desired
· Experience creating flow charts, network diagrams, and other
references using MS Visio desired
· High proficiency with the MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint required
· Experience with UNIX shell scripting, e.g. csh, ksh, bourne shell
required
· Experience using any of Perl, PHP, or Python
scripting/programming languages required
· Experience and/or knowledge with any other programming languages,
e.g. C, C++, Java, etc. Structured or Object-oriented programming
languages is a plus
· Basic knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL,
etc.) required
· Knowledge with Information Security and/or Information Assurance
(C&A, FISMA, FISCAM, NIST 800-53) desired
· Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) Administration is highly
desired
· Experience with the CyberArk platform is highly desired
· Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills,
including documentation and correspondence
· Excellent interpersonal skills w/ the ability to work in a team
as well as individually
· Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
· Experience leading a team a plus
