Re: changing client password?
From your backup server go to the Configure tab, click Clients. Choose your client pc and under the tools tab use the Set Password option. On the client side I don't think there's an option for changing the password. Re: Catalog out of sync
Hi there, The "Catalog out of sync" error is covered in the Error Messages section of the Dantz website. http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=error Here's what it says: -- Catalog out of sync Retrospect was unable to update the catalog the last time it copied data to this backup set. This may have been due to equipment failure or power failure, or was caused by a full disk or by a lack of memory. Repair the catalog. See "Updating a Catalog" in chapter 9 of the Retrospect User's Guide. If updating the catalog does not eliminate the "catalog out of sync" error, Retrospect cannot add files to that tape. You have three options: o Perform a recycle backup, which resets the catalog and erases the media, removing its existing backup files. o Skip to a new medium with media action option (page 148 of the Retrospect User's Guide), forcing Retrospect to use a new piece of media for the next backup. o Create a new backup set and do a backup to new media. -- I hope this helps! Now the big question: How to REALLY get rid of this message/error? I use Retrospect Express on W2K. risto -- -- To subscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives:http://list.working-dogs.com/lists/retro-talk/ Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- -- To subscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives:http://list.working-dogs.com/lists/retro-talk/ Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Retrospect and Adaptec 39160
Hello All, He is what is happening. I had a 2940U2W that powered my two LVD hard drives and a DDS4 Dat drive. Performance was great. Backup ran at around 250 meg/min. All termination was done with active terminators connected to the cables. I have since changed to the Adaptec 39160. On channel A I have a HP 9210 CRW. Channel B has 2 IBM LVD drives and the DDS4 Dat drive. Performance on the hard drives is fine. Dat drive now backs up at 30 meg/min. I have installed the most current drives from the adaptec site for Win 2000. What is going on. Adaptec has no idea?? Is this something to do with Retrospect?
