URGENT: post-review queries

2012-08-06 Thread Nilesh Jaiswal
Dear All,

I am trying to post the review request as below argument.

My perforce id:njaiswal

*I am using --submit-as option.*

*post-review --bugs-closed=TEST --file-list=/tmp/tmp9Dj3Dt
--branch=DEV_BR

--description-file=/tmp/tmp79D4Hj 1567 --p4-port=
pf-ch.nds.com:1666*

My while posting i am getting below error message.

Your review request still exists, but the diff is not attached.

*My question is, *

1. Does my RB server user id requires account in perforce?

2. What should i do make posting of review request if am having one
perforce id with multiple RB server user id.

3. Is it mandatory that perforce id to be in the user list of reviewboard

This is very urgent request, i would really appreciate your quick reply

Hi Christian,
Thanks for the reply . I an getting following error when i typed
post-review in cmd

GNU diff is required for Subversion repositories. Make sure it is installed
and in the path.

On Windows, you can install this from:
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/diffutils.htm;

I have already installed GNU Diff and set in the Path .

For your information,I have also installed both Tortoise SVN as well as
collabnet subversion client .

Please suggest how to proceed further.

No. It wouldn't matter in any way.

It sounds like there's just something wrong with your diff. Run that

reviewboard.log for errors that correspond to the time you made that

 Hi,

When I try to run manually post review script in order to submit a new
review request from range of SVN revisions and in some revision was a file
that was changed and then deleted, it fails with the error below:

 *$ post-review --revision-range=43023:43470 --debug RBTools 0.4.1*

 *['Mobile/css/main.css: (Not a versioned resource)\n', '\n', 'svn: A
problem occurred; see other errors for details\n']*

Is there anything we can do to solve it?
I tried to look for all the keys that post-review get, but nothing
 really help there..

  Thanks,
 David.

Hi ,
Following is the output diff --version.

Usage: diff [OPTIONS] file1 file2

Display the differences between file1 and file2 in unified diff
format. OPTIONS are diff extensions as described by 'svn help diff'.
Use '--' alone to indicate that no more options follow.

The version of diff it's using is not GNU diff. It sounds like it's some
other diff tool, possibly from collabnet or Tortoise SVN. You need exactly
GNU diff.

GNU diff is required for Subversion repositories. Make sure it is
 installed
 and in the path.

On Windows, you can install this from:
 http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/diffutils.htm;

I have already installed GNU Diff and set in the Path .

For your information,I have also installed both Tortoise SVN as well as
 collabnet subversion client .

Please suggest how to proceed further.

Re: Not able to use post-review

2012-08-06 Thread Christian Hammond
It's going to be whatever is in the path first. When you run diff --version
with GNU diff, you should see something like:

diff (GNU diffutils) 3.0
Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
.
This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it.
There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law.

Written by Paul Eggert, Mike Haertel, David Hayes,
Richard Stallman, and Len Tower.

All I can say is, make sure you have your path and the executables all set
correctly. There's not much I can really do other than suggest that.

Re: Not able to use post-review

2012-08-06 Thread Michał Muszyński
Hi Vijay,

Let's try few things.

1. Check if cmd finds 'diff' command. Send us the output of 'where
diff'. This should basically point to your GNU diff installation
directory ('C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin\diff.exe' in my
system). If it doesn't, add this path at the beginning of system
variable 'Path', run a new instance of cmd and execute 'where diff'
again.

2. Go to %appdata%\Subversion and open 'config' file in text editor.
Check if diff tool is specified in this file (line should look like:
diff-cmd=something).

Ugh, unfortunately not. It's a real pain to revert a version in Fedora.
(It can be done, such as when regressions necessitate it), but it's
never done lightly. It requires mangling the version numbers in a
particularly ugly way to ensure that anyone who happened to install the
previous package will still update to the new one (despite the version
being lower).

I don't suppose you could point me at specific patches that I could
revert in the django_pipeline 1.2.14 release instead that would get it
working in the meantime?

Re: URGENT: Review Board still not building (was Re: Review Board 1.7 beta 1 released)

2012-08-06 Thread Christian Hammond
I have no idea. I fixed a few things (they changed the API around a bit,
breaking non-bundled media compilers), but even after fixing that, I'm
getting a much more concerning error. I'll try to track it down and see if
we can fix it, but if not, it'll need to be fixed in pipeline.

Given the API changes, I'd be concerned about reverting code in pipeline
for the package.

I'll keep you informed as I learn more.

This branch has what we need on the djblets side:

https://github.com/chipx86/djblets/tree/pipeline-fix

Unless there's just something messed up here, you should hit problems with
pipeline not finding files in the PipelineCachedStorage. I traced the first
occurrence to revision dd2eed6e51bcfa4352b95a12e8f43c0feaca8819, but even
if I revert that on master, I still hit some issues. Can you confirm?

Looking at the pipeline commit you referenced, I can understand why it's
still having issue. That patch is just an exception-catcher for an
underlying issue that they must have introduced earlier. I'm going to
see if I can spot an earlier patch that may have introduced the issue
with writing to a static root (unless that's an assumption that Review
Board is making that it should not be).

Going further, if that change is reverted, the next failure seems to
come from when they redid the compiler API. What's odd is that the

pointing to it. This is revision
   96b356d7c9a8e5626b4ce018577984b89c7f2178.

From further investigation, it looks like that patch was completely
broken until they added both c1ff4867fe57a9fffbddae38b51d888c85304a87
and fb51fba3f391a9685f4ab65757e7511e3f927df8 to fix it properly. So
we're probably getting a false-positive from git bisect because those
two patches are also not included. Maybe a quick 'git rebase -i' to
merge those into 96b356d7c9a8e5626b4ce018577984b89c7f2178 will allow git
bisect to find the real culprit?

The only other thing I noticed was that they did change behavior in one
place in that code. In Compiler.compile(), they were previously passing
output_path to the compilers as the output argument, but this patch
changes that to be output_file as determined by finders.find(). Being
unfamiliar with the code and the return type of finders.find(), I can't
  say whether this is relevant.

Thanks very much for your help on this Christian, but at this point
(with my deadline running close and the hour growing late), I'm just
going to go the downgrade route and treat this as a life-lesson: always
test version compatibility before making a release.

Thanks again, and if we find a solution for this later on, I can still
upgrade django_pipeline back up to a recent release. I'll just be
carrying the annoying epoch version-mangle forever. C'est la vie.

Sorry man :( That's my life-lesson. I had thought our servers and nightly
builds upgraded to django-pipeline along with the release, but no,
apparently not.

I'll keep poking at this and talk to the developer. He's a good guy and has
helped with these regressions before, so we'll get it figured out.

Thanks for all your help on this. Really sorry for the trouble.

Actually, in a lucky comedy of errors, an unrelated glitch in the Fedora
servers meant that my 1.2.14 package never actually made it out to any
of the Fedora mirrors. So I got lucky and was able to just yank it out
of the queue and I'll be able to avoid the version-mangling for now.

So all's well that ends well, I suppose. If you and the pipeline
upstream do sort things out though, I'd be appreciative of a heads-up so
I can rev the version back up.

Sorry man :( That's my life-lesson. I had thought our servers and
nightly builds upgraded to django-pipeline along with the release, but
 no, apparently not.

I'll keep poking at this and talk to the developer. He's a good guy
and has helped with these regressions before, so we'll get it figured
 out.

 One more problem :(

Now I'm seeing this traceback (failure to import jsmin.py). I assume

*sigh* Okay, apparently django_pipeline has an undeclared runtime
 dependency on http://pypi.python.org/pypi/jsmin/

Looks like I'll have to try to package that in the morning. Review Board
is probably not going to make it into the Fedora Alpha release.
Hopefully they'll let me sneak it in for Beta (since 1.6.x is FTBFS with
 Django 1.4)

OMG sorry but this is terribly ugly and doesn't work.

I had a similar problem with reviewboard errors on adding a private GIT
repository. I'd see rbssh errors in httpd's error_log such as:

[Mon Aug 06 15:13:20 2012] [error] ERROR:root:Git: Failed to find valid

[Mon Aug 06 15:13:20 2012] [error]

at first we thought it was an SSH problem, but a peek at the above error
log and the above post reminded me that we have a Python 2.4.3 install on
this CENTOS 5 machine, and a recently installed Python 2.7 install after
which I installed setuptools, easy_install Reviewboard, etc And thus
there was an rbssh at /usr/bin/rbssh which was invoking Python 2.4 (hence
the python 2.4 calls, should have been 2.7) and another at
/usr/local/bin/rbssh which was invoking Python 2.7. So I linked the
/usr/local/bin/rbssh to /usr/bin/rbssh (first mv /usr/bin/rbssh to
/usr/bin/rbssh.py2.4), and git repository was now being added no problem.

Please be more descriptive.
What do you mean by is terribly ugly and doesn't work.
Neither one of those two statements is helpful or constructive to solving
any problem.

ewsinc: That problem is a different one. You need to upgrade to Django
1.3.3.
