Re: [Rife-users] PropertyIncompatibleTypeException

Hi Emmanuel,

seems it was left behind during a commit. I added it now.

Best regards,

Geert

Re: [Rife-users] Embedded Tomcat?

2005-11-17 Thread Geert Bevin
I don't see why not, it works perfectly with an embedded Jetty. That
is in fact how all the engine unittests are run.

Has anyone ever tried using Rife with embedded Tomcat ?

I'm just curious whether it's doable.

In essence, you'd start up your own app first, and then
instantiate, configure, and connect Tomcat components.
I wonder whether Rife could then be made to run in such
an environment.

Re: [Rife-users] running rife on a Glue web server

2005-11-17 Thread Geert Bevin

Hi Lars,

does the Glue web server supports Servlet API 2.3 completely? If it
doesn't, it will not work with RIFE.

IIRC Glue is very easy to integrate with Tomcat (I skimmed the docs a
few times a while ago). I think that this would be the best route.

Before I start to think about option 2, I would like to know what you
think how complicated it is to get rife running on a Glue web server.
The Glue web server doesn't support war archives.

If someone has some hints how to start these migration, I would

get them. :)

Re: [Rife-users] RIFE Authentication

2005-11-17 Thread Geert Bevin
RIFE has very exclusive features. A book on it will have to explain
the
design decisions behind these and suggest best practice (remember,
this

is a new way of doing things).

What I'd like to see:

* Tons of class and interaction diagrams.

* Short stand-alone examples -- I hate those that keep building on the
previous ones. And, finish with a complete application that
combines all

the different features.

I have only one reference when it comes to technical books:
Thinking in

Java. Write something similar and you have a customer here :-)

Eddy

Thanks Eddy, I'll keep these in the back of my head when working on
the book proposal.
