Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Tagging WAV files.
I have zero WAV files in my library. If I happen to download WAVs , I convert them to FLAC. [SlimDevices: Ripping] Tagging WAV files.
Hi, What Windows software do you use for tagging WAV files? Thanks! Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Replay gain on whole collection, or not?
Thanks guys! Nice to read that this topic also serves others. I am a Foobar user for a long time so that's what I used. On the Foobar website I found some info regarding RG, it states that one might use a lower preamp for classical music... What is the reason for doing so, or not using it at all with a multitude of music files of different genres and sources? It is as if there is no volume control afterwards... I guess that most people change the volume regularly, depending on the circumstances, so either I don't understand what RG does or I don't see the consequences. Thanks for clarifying! R. Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Replay gain on whole collection, or not?
These are new options. Not sure. From reading the options I would leave the down sample selected. Then do a test with and without the peak option on a few different types of music styles and see how I like the results for volume matching. Of course all any of this does is add info tags. ItÂ’s not touching your actual audio info in the files. *Home:* VBA 4TB (2.4)>LMS 7.9.1>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.4)>LMS 7.9.1>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (ethernet, Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>LMS 7.9.2>Squeezelite *The Wild (no internet): *PiCorePlayer 4.0 on rPi 3B+, hifiberry Dac+Pro, 4TB USB (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpa > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110369 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping

It was certainly a problem with old and unmaintained players, but what new players don't support it? I guess there are car stereos etc...
