Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Various Artists not working as expected
Just an idea: did you do a full rescan after changing/adding these tags? I did have similar behavior of songs that were already in my library which, after being tagged (correctly), still didn't show up correctly. pCP v5.0.0 on all players LMS 7.9.2 on Debian Buster server in a Linux Container RPi 3B+ with Hifiberry AMP2 and official 7" touchscreen (Squeezelite + Jivelite), +27k titles on SMB share RPi B as dedicated player, connected over wifi with USB dongle RPi 2B as dedicated player, connected over powerline RPi Zero W as dedicated player Squeezer on Android to control Rnee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66970 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111346 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] How to tag a lot of non-album tracks?
That's a way too. I do have them in separate folders. I wonder if it's possible to get the correct dates, genre and album titles in some way, without doing this manually since I already have spent a lot of time on this. Especially dates and genre are important for advanced searches. pCP v5.0.0 on all players RPi 3B+ with Hifiberry AMP2 and official 7" touchscreen (Squeezelite, LMS and Jivelite), +24k titles on SMB share RPi B as dedicated player, connected over wifi with USB dongle RPi 2B as dedicated player, connected over powerline RPi Zero W as dedicated player Squeezer on Android to control Rnee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66970 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
[SlimDevices: Ripping] How to tag a lot of non-album tracks?
Hi all As well as having full cd's I also have quite a lot 'orphaned' songs of which I would like to correct the tags. I mostly use mp3tag but tagging these files is a real pita. Now I tried with picard musicbrainz but most of the songs are identified as being part of compilation cd's so even dates are wrong. Is there a better way to achieve this? Thanks! Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] Replay gain on whole collection, or not?
Thanks guys! Nice to read that this topic also serves others. I am a Foobar user for a long time so that's what I used. On the Foobar website I found some info regarding RG, it states that one might use a lower preamp for classical music... What is the reason for doing so, or not using it at all with a multitude of music files of different genres and sources? It is as if there is no volume control afterwards... I guess that most people change the volume regularly, depending on the circumstances, so either I don't understand what RG does or I don't see the consequences. Thanks for clarifying! R. [SlimDevices: Ripping] Replay gain on whole collection, or not?
Hi guys I have a collection of +24k files of which about 1200 are full albums, formats are flac, mp3 and m4a. Apart from listening to full albums a lot, it also happens regularly that I play a mix based on genre or timeframe; naturally the result is having mixed sound levels. I know about that replay gain exists and think I know what it does. My questions 1) is it advisable to modify my whole collection to 1 level? 2) what are the disadvantages/reasons not to do this? 3) anyone who did this and went back?
