ItÂ’s often not necessary to install any drivers. Is the USB listed as available - possibly as USB Audio Codec - in Audio Mixer on W10? Many DACs use the same USB interface & DACs chips so and so if the chips details are available then suggestions may be possible as drivers interface with these chips bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108273 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping

No. My problem right now (I think) is that I can't get the Windows 10 PC to see the DAC that is connected to a USB port as an audio device. My PC sees the DAC and indicates that the driver is inactive. I have executed the driver .exe file that was given to me by the DAC manufacturer but when I tell Windows Device Manager to update the driver and point it to the folder where I installed the drive I get a message back - driver not found! rogingat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67557 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108273 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] does LMS/Squeezebox 2 limit the sampling or bit rate
Can you can get audio output from any Windows application through the DAC attached via USB to the PC ? If not, then it is likely that JRiver will have the same problem. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108273 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] does LMS/Squeezebox 2 limit the sampling or bit rate
Valid question, why am I going to all this trouble when I have a SB2? I have a very high end audiophile system and a large collection of 24/96 and 24/192 files. Also I recently purchased a state if the art DAC. Then I discovered that SB2 limits the output to 48k in spite of the fact that it shows 24/96 on the display! That seems really stupid. If I cant get Squeezelite to work I will purchase JRiver. I appreciate everyones help so far. rogingat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67557 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108273 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] does LMS/Squeezebox 2 limit the sampling or bit rate
Are you running Windows? Open Device Manager and find the disabled USB audio device. Right-click on it and select update driver. Point it to the folder where you downloaded/installed the XCORE driver. You have to get the USB audio device working before you can solve the Squeezelite issue. Note: for someone admittedly inexperienced with this level of support/troubleshooting you are going through a lot of trouble for a less convenient solution than your SB2 and very little if any sound difference. My advice is to go back to your original configuration, update LMS to current 7.9.1 beta, and enjoy your music. It helped a lot. Unfortunately when it comes to this kind of work I am really dumb. I ran the driver software and installed the driver in the Squeezelite folder. I connected the DAC and set it to USB. I did the -l thing and got a list. My DAC driver (XCORE) is not there. I don't have any idea what to do next! rogingat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67557 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108273 ___ ripping mailing list ripping@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
Re: [SlimDevices: Ripping] does LMS/Squeezebox 2 limit the sampling or bit rate
You need to tell Squeezelite which output to use. See "-l" setup command: https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/command-line-options-for-squeezelite/ Run this with your USB DAC attached to your PC and properly installed. One of the output options should be your DAC. You include this option on your Squeezelite startup command.
