The general convention in Red Hat derived distros is packagename-devel, IME.

[RDD] Rivendell 2.0.2 Install Fail

2011-11-01 Thread Keith

Hello, I'm not sure what to do now.

I downloaded rivendell-2.0.2.tar.gz and used
tar zxf rivendell-2.0.2.tar.gz which created the folder rivendell-2.0.2.

After going into this folder I did ./configure
Rivendel did not install and an output list is here:
http://www.susepaste.org/34982281

I'm not sure what to do next. I installed everyting in the prerequisite list.
What tests or checks can I do? Do I need to do something with MySQL other than
the install?

Thanks,

Re: [RDD] MYSQL/Rivendell and VPN's

2011-11-01 Thread Gavin Stephens
Thanks James for confirming what I was guessing.

Thanks for the tip Hoggins, I might re-look at upgrading from 1.7.2 just
for that reason.

Those load times sound good Phil and much appreciated for the detail. I
have less than 2,000 tracks in RD at the moment so that sounds even better.

Fortunately my bandwidth user isn't a teenager yet so it's only
dressupgirl.net and club penguin.

The VPN router limits my remote Internet access (for wi-fi security) to
256Kbps, and I have the odd 64Kbps stream going out. I should be fine
then if I put aside say a separate 512Kbps rule for an RD VPN.

I have a 1.025Kbps upstream sync speed, about ~800Kbps throughput on my
ADSL2+ upstream so those figures look good and will be better for the
small Library I have.

Kia ora!
Gavin.

Alas, this is not possible, as the files require BWF chunks (BEXT, MEXT and
LEVL). I am not aware of any FOSS software (other than Rivendell itself)
capable of generating these formats.

But, my original statement still stands: is *should* be simple to work
something up to do this. Finding the *time* to do it is another story,
unfortunately... :(

Cheers!

I had this problem too, but it was because I had $http_proxy set.

I had this error and it was a permissions issue with /var/snd. I believe I
added the Rivendell group as a secondary group to the user I was logged in
as. Log out and log back in and I believe that fixed the issue.
