Hello Chuck,
The database is on the same computer? If yes the problem can be the memory.

If this is the case check the configuration of MySQL and the cache. If MySQL
starting to swap the answer can become slow.

[RDD] Sweeper

2020-05-05 Thread Workino

Hello,
I'm looking at how to add the sweeper to songs but at the moment I
cannot still figure out how to accomplish it.

I was thinking something like
macro->runexternalscript->playcartwalatcorrectmoment but i found out the
variable on RN are referring to the time and not to metadata.

@Fred is it possible to implement a variable we can use to send to an
external script to the position in the playlist or metadata (full
example artist - title - year)? In this way would be possible to check
on DB if any talk time is present and chose the optimal sweeper from
cart-wall to catch the intro.

If anyone of you knows a better way to do it please let me know.

Re: [RDD] Frequent Failure Of NFS Mount During Boot

2020-01-26 Thread Workino
Hello Rich,
This kind of problem normally can come from network not still ready at the
moment of nfs mount.
Anyway double check the log and the console to find any kind of problem and Let
me suggest, if it is not just like that, to remove dhcp and migrate to static
ip.

Also if you schedule a reboot with mount -a you will have the same problem.

I am not sure about any specifics wet pypad as I have never used it yet
but may do so as early as today.

 Questions:

Are they updating the same server?
Are they updating different mount points?
Is there a limit in the number of sources for the server that is being
 exceeded?

Probably You miss the DB access permissions.
Try to have a look to grant permission (also for replica)

Try something like:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON Rivendell.* to ‘rdpl’@‘192.168.%’;

But double check host, username, DB.

Hello Pedro,
In rd 3 all rdimport logs are in /var/log/message and not anymore in the files.
Try to lunch reimport meanwhile you are tailing message file
tail -f /var/log/message and check which error u have there

Re: [RDD] Glasscoder icecast/shoutcast V1

2019-08-20 Thread Workino
Here all provider is giving only ipv6 and ipv4 is a shared one so if I would
like to have a static ipv4 I need to pay a good amount of money.
All good hardware is supporting ipv6 from long time so no big issue to use is
just a little bit more complicate but also not so much.

For the problem to insert the IPv6 manually i don’t think no one will give an
ip to connect but a domain name normally. In this time there are a lot of
providers who can manage ipv6 + ipv4 dns for free ( like dnsexit.com and many
other).

Anyway we are speaking about glasscoder and if it is not supporting ipv6 is not
a real problem, normally it is running in the lan to be connected to the real
streaming server like icecast, shoutcast, hls or any other kind of streamer. If
is needed to connect to external server normally this one have for sure an ipv4
so again is still not so big deal and if also the server had only ipv6 nice
tunnel (openvpn, ssh, pptp) and all is working again.

Am I in wrong? :)

Regards
Gabriele

Ps: who have no ipv6 at home but would like to have just get a class /64 from
hurricane https://tunnelbroker.net/ for free.

Re: [RDD] NFS Cache

2019-08-19 Thread Workino
Yes I know not always is doing.
I got same trouble on Apache cluster server who had data share by nfs.
In my case I think become because I liunche the script too many times in short
time and nfs started to cache. After I disabled the cache every times I was
running the script the audio was correct.

Anyway I was coping the file trough Rml command.

I’ll investigate future more.
I would like just to advise about this possibility :)

Re: [RDD] Help with Liquid Soap =-)

Hello Thomas,
U can solve in different way.
I solved using all jackd chain

Rivendell —> jackd —> stereotool —> darkice

In this way you can have any mount point you would like with few line of
config.

For metadata pypad in Rivendell is working great.

If you would like to use normal pcm how input you can use butt.

Re: [RDD] Losing JACK on upgrade

2019-07-19 Thread Workino
Hello Tim,
No is not twice or better one is the main instance is managing the resources (
root ) and the second for ( rd ) for use the resources under user like if I
would like to stream something for web browser etc... I decided for this
solution because I’m almost not using any physical device all is virtual.

I’m trough the phone and is not so easy to show the actual configuration but

Rivendell - rduser - physical mic and output ( pfl and master ) are managed by
non-mixer. The output of master is connected to stereo tool ( jack version) and
the output of stereo tool went into darkice for stream. All in on computer :)

Re: [RDD] Losing JACK on upgrade

2019-07-19 Thread Workino
Hello ,
To let Rivendell find jackd, jackd need to start under root user. To use jackd
also under rd user I connected the instance running under rd user trough
netjack to the main (root user)

All is working perfectly

Hello,
Did u try to lunch rdimport manually?
What said the output in console?
Normally in manual mode u have more output.

Are u on Ubuntu or centos? Selinux is not exist on Ubuntu :)

Another try can to use strace to see exactly what is the problem.

Hello Robert,
You can use both without any problem.
But let me say If tinc server and master sever are in the same lan subnet you
don’t needed to activate a vpn also on master. For the ports If firewall on
master is not configured all ports will be exposed without any restrictions.

Why would u like to change the starting sequence?

Fred thanks for your answer.
I’m asking because I see during import only artist and title were imported by
filename and and no other id3 values was taken.

In my files I had almost all inside from bpm, album, year, etc. but look like
Rivendell didn’t find.

Am i doing something wrong?

U can easily find if that is the problem opening a terminal and run rdlibrary
from shell. If u see some sql error is host configuration problem. But anyway
if u have any kind of problem try to execute the command in a terminal. I can
have a better output of the error

For point 2 double check the nfs export on server for directory /var/snd and
how u have mounted on client side ( mount |grep snd )

For point 3 check the user u are using to connect to the database what
