Hi Mark, I'm glad to know darkice is getting better.
Few years ago when it lost connection to server and then reconnected there
was a terrible white noise. It happened when using along with jackd. Is it
fixed too?

Hey folks,
For those of you who have been avoiding using darkice as your stream
encoder, you may want to check out the latest trunk over at: svn checkout
*http*://darkice.googlecode.com/svn/darkice/trunk/ darkice-read-only
I've been helping Kalle Kulonen improve darkice's stability when streaming
to a remote Icecast/Shoutcast server. I'm pleased to say that the changes
Kalle implemented have greatly improved darkice's stability. I've been
running it for several days with a sometimes-shaky connection to Icecast
and it has successfully recovered every time there has been network issues.
I've tried other encoders but none are as efficient or as straightforward
as darkice. I suggest you give it a look (or give it another look, as the
case may be)!
Regards,
Mark Turner
