I just updated to version 2.15.1 yesterday. I really am only using RDCATCH to take care of a bunch of programs that we pull down. In any case I will have RDCATCH export the programs to a network share as a PCM16, 44100KHZ mono WAV file. For some reason now, Rivendell is exporting the files corrupt. I can read them in Audacity, but all my other applications throw an error message up. It is almost as if its missing its header. I change the setting to PCM24, and it works. However the application that is pulling in the file reads it as a FLAC codec. Anyone know a good place to start looking for a fix? RDCATCH doesn't generate an error as it doesn't check files that it exports. Re: [RDD] RDCATCH 2.15.1 Export problem
Just some updates from what I have tried so far: Reinstalled LIBAO Reinstalled LIBsamplerate No change. Again I can export PCM16, various tools will verify it but its missing something and won't play like a normal .WAV PCM file would, thus my ingest machine fails on all the files now. This just started after I updated CENTOS and Rivendell packages through its Software Update tool. And oddly enough, if I select PCM24 and export a cart, it actually reads as FLAC codec. If I select MPEG 2, it won't even write out the file, actually I should have a log message on that one at least Very confused, what am I missing? We have a known issue in v2.15.1 with WAV exports containing metadata opening as a ‘flat line' in Cool Edit Pro (fixed in git ‘stable’). However, in all of my testing, turning off ‘export metadata’ clears the problem. I suspect that we can treat Adobe Audition as being essentially the same product in this context as it is a lineal descendant of CEP code-wise. Cheers! |--| | Frederick F. Yup, CoolEdit Pro has been out out of distribution for a long time. However there are still quite a few stations using it for a few reasons. -It still works (at least on the 32 bit version of Windows 7 it works, there are a few issues with running it on 64 bit Win7. Never tried it on 8 or 10), the license does not expire -People know it -It does most (if not all) of what many stations need for production use -In many ways it is simpler to use then the latest version of Adobe Audition (and since presumably the license would have been paid for years ago, and Adobe has migrated to a monthly / annual license fee, its cheaper then the latest Adobe product) The above are why a lot of people are still running Adobe Audition version 3.01 too. Re: [RDD] RDCATCH 2.15.1 Export problem
We just upgraded this weekend to Riv 2.15.1 on Centos 6.8. thinking the export bug was fixed in the automatic updates. Now we have corrupted files on export that will not burn to a CD for listener requests without first running them through Audacity. It seems like files under 250 MB work fine and over that become corrupted. I tested exporting without metadata and it did not change the problem. I see that this was fixed in github but that is new to me. How do I find what I am looking for and how do I use it? It looks like I would need to compile Riv from source code by components, true?
