Hi!

Robert, I'm putting you in CC in case, because as it happens, the
instructions I gave you yesterday (for installing the development
version of rkwarddev), are out of date, today.

If you do want to check for updates, the package has just been split out
into a separate repo, as detailed below.

finally, i took the time to extract both the rkwarddev and XiMpLe
packages and grant them their own git repository. after thinking back
and forth, i felt more at peace with taking them both to github as
part of the rkward-community group:
  https://github.com/rkward-community/rkwarddev
  https://github.com/rkward-community/XiMpLe

i would suggest to remove them from the rkward sources so there is no
confusion. also, i propose to delete the original "external_plugins"
repository from github, since all plugins have been split out
(keeping their histories) and most of them have also progressed in
the meantime.

ok?

Yes, ok to both. I'll remove from the rkward sources, leaving
external_plugins to you.

Thomas

i'd say the most comfortable way of installing these packages is using the
devtools package:

 library(devtools)
 install_github("rkward-community/XiMpLe", ref=develop)
 install_github("rkward-community/rkwarddev", ref=develop)

sorry, we're still missing proper README.md files (the repos are currently
like plain copies of what used to be in the RKWard source tree a few days
ago).

Those packaging from the git tree, instead:
- Make sure to checkout releases/0.6.4
- Make sure to fetch the translation updates (see
  i18n/README.translations)

RKWard 0.6.4 release candidate is available for packaging

2015-12-15 Thread Thomas Friedrichsmeier
Hi!

Just to let you know: The sources for RKWard 0.6.4 have been finalized
(hopefully), the release candidate is at
http://files.kde.org/rkward/testing/for_packaging/ .

The intent is to declare this the official 0.6.4 final release on
Sunday, December 20, without any further changes. This means, packagers
are encouraged to start producing packages based on this tarball, but
be aware that there *could* be last minute changes before the official
release, if we discover *grave* problems at the last minute. Therefore,
if you plan to release packages into the wild before December 20, you
may want to signify the "rc"-status in their version name.

Thanks to everybody involved!

Regards
Thomas
