Re: [ros-dev] August meeting

2011-08-25 Thread Aleksey Bragin

I will this time.

As for public/private, I suppose majority wanted to have it private?
I don't have a strong position here because first of all we are not
going to discuss something, which is not for public ear, and second
is that meeting minutes are published anyway in our mailing list. If
meetings are strictly private (which is also just fine), then we need
to re-think the meeting process somehow so that meeting minutes would
be adjusted accordingly.

WBR,
Aleksey Bragin.

I propose to move individual devs status reports to ros-dev mailing

Why do you say that?
What if I think Timo is actually an American spy out to destroy reactos due
to its Russian roots, and is planting code into the source which violates
Apples patent on the wheel and the colour blue? This is a topic I'd like to
discuss in private, as it's possible I may be wrong and Timo is really
working for the British.

In all seriousness, there are an infinite number of topics which may be
better suited to a private conversation.
I actually have two in mind, one being the driver signing issue.
Not all public facing companies should conduct all of their affairs in the
public eye.

Of course the minutes can and should be published, but they can omit
sensitive information which a public chat cannot.
Private meetings allow people to discuss things more freely without fear of
the Americans hunting you down and declaring war.

if such a thing is doable.

Since the decision has been taken not to have the meeting public due to the
topics that will be discussed, only the people who are in the quoted list will
be able to access to the channel on the IRC server where the meeting will be
held.

To those who are on the list and who may not have received their credentials,
please remember to check your @reactos.org mail address. If you still don't
have credentials, please contact me as soon as possible.

Re: [ros-dev] Debug Buildslave Maintenance

2011-08-25 Thread Eric Kohl

Hi Olaf,

I am already investigating the services test issues. One of my first
findings is that the current widl seems to mess up value ranges in some
cases. This is the cause of the following errors:
 err:(dll/win32/rpcrt4/ndr_marshall.c:6496) value exceeded bounds: 918,
low: 0, high: 514

It is pretty annoying that jgardou updated rpcrt4, widl and other
components without proper testing. At least he should have posted a bug
list BEFORE he comitted the new stuff.

Eric
