[Bug 2801] Review request: mixxx - open source software for DJ'ing

--- Comment #10 from Steve 2013-05-18 00:17:28 CEST ---
Sorry, my bad -- at first, I had considered attaching my new package to bug
2614, but figured I'd be told to submit a new package and become a maintainer
instead. I guessed wrong. :-)

Just let me know what I need to do to push this forward!

I have a lot of other packages I want to submit, but this one will be first.

Package reviews are for new packages, I'll reassign this to kmixxx component
then.

I know it's already in RPMFusion -- I mentioned that in my opening message.
But that's an older version. This is the latest release of Mixxx.

I don't have a machine running FC19, but Mixxx is very cross-platform, so there
should be no issues.

Hi,

May I point out that mixxx is already in rpmfusion, it needs some loving,
specifically it is FTBFS in F-19+, but it is already there.

I suggest you file a bug against mixx with (a) patch(es) to the package with
any improvements you may have (such as making it build on F-19+). Please base
your work on top of the existing package.

I see you blocked NEEDSPONSORS, is that because you're new to rpmfusion, or new
to Fedora packaging in general? If you're already a sponsored/approved Fedora
packager, you don't need separate sponsor ship in rpmfusion, and you could ask
for co-maintainer-ship of mixxx in the same bug.

Regards,

Hans

Please don't use fedorapeople.org to upload RPM Fusion stuff.

I just committed the dead.package to CVS. I forgot to do it many moons ago.
Thanks for noticing.

OK, as soon as I can figure out why I keep getting "Permission denied
(publickey)" when trying to log in via ssh, I'll upload a source RPM.

DJ'ing
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Package Reviews
   Version: Current
  Platform: i386
OS/Version: GNU/Linux

Mixxx is open source software for DJ'ing. You can use MP3s, Ogg Vorbis files,
and other formats as audio input. Mixxx can be controlled through the GUI and
with external controllers including MIDI devices, and more.

Let me know where to upload the source RPM -- I'm not sure where to do that.

An older version of this package is already in RPMFusion; this is just an
update. I've personally built and run this package on FC16, FC17, and FC18
running i686.

On the source RPM, rpmlint reported a few bogus spelling errors, a bogus "setup
not quiet" warning with -T, and an invalid URL on the source package that
contains an upstream update, for which there is no proper URL. The binary RPM
had the same warnings, a non-executable-script error on a PHP script that's
just there for reference, and a no-manual-page-for-binary warning -- the manual
is a PDF.

This is my first RPMFusion package, so I guess that means I'm seeking a
sponsor.  I hope to do many more packages (e.g. all the mingw{32,64}
dependencies that it takes to build this package for MS Windows).
