[Bug 5079] Review request: wiringpi - PIN based GPIO access library for BCM283x SoC devices
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5079 --- Comment #7 from Andrew Bauer --- I reviewed the specfile from the wiringpi fedora review, and the specfile I am presenting in this review has all those changes. I am not terribly surprised though, because I did start with the specfile from Vaughn's FedBerry repo. :-) Here is what I changed: - Remove setting _hardened_build because by default it is already enabled. I can put it back if someone objects. - Removed the three %defattr(-,root,root) because that is the default - Set ExclusiveArch to armv7hl since that is the only supported arch in the rpi namespace If I understand what I read correctly in the Fedora review, the downstream bcm2709 module is only required on aarch64, so it seems this is not an issue at the moment, since we are only building for armv7hl. In any case, I am out of town for dayjob this week, but when I return, I will test wiringpi and verify it works correctly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. If it does, I'll be glad to close this request out. IMO, the package would now be a better fit with rpmfusion. I just wanted to reference the Fedora review that has already been undertaken, which might aid with this package review request. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. [Bug 5079] Review request: wiringpi - PIN based GPIO access library for BCM283x SoC devices
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5079 --- Comment #4 from Nicolas Chauvet --- I have no problem with this package in the rpmfusion rpi section "as is". (once reviewed) given it dependents on the rpi-kernel. If, later, this package is approved for Fedora, then we might remove the duplicate from there. https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5079 --- Comment #3 from Andrew Bauer --- I need to become the package reviewer for a few more projects before I can become elligble to become a sponsor. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_sponsor_a_new_contributor So I am unable to help you directly for the time being. Keep participating over there, even create additional package requests (which I can review for you), generate more noise, etc. You probably know, but it's all about getting the attention of one of the more senior members. Bringing my conversation back on the topic of this rpmfusion review request, I don't mind letting this one sit until we can get your Fedora review request through. [Bug 5079] Review request: wiringpi - PIN based GPIO access library for BCM283x SoC devices
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5079 Vaughan changed: What|Removed |Added CC||de...@agrez.net --- Comment #1 from Vaughan --- Peter Oliver wanted this pushed upstream into Fedora earlier on in the year. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1577011 It went through a review process, I made lots of changes but I never got a sponsor, so it didn't progress any further. I didn't have to time or motivation to push it any further. As a side note, this library needs a 'downstream' kernel (ie the RPi's BCM2709 Linux kernel port) to function. From memory, I do believe I have seen some patches floating around to make it compatible with 'upstream' kernels but I have never tried them, therefore I have no idea if they even work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
