I quickly read through http://www.gns3.net/hardware-emulated/, asked a bit on
their IRC channel and did a little research on the web.

It seems to me, you can use any kind of Qemu image. With free switching and
routing software like Openvswitch, Yvatta, images of OpenWRT or just a Linux
host set up to do routing, I get the impression, gns3 can serve a purpose
without IOS images.

I just noticed dynamips was forked off to dynamips-community, which claims to
be released under GPLv2.

Does that change anything about including it in Fedora or is there still

The issue isn't the licensing of dynamips itself, but of the ROM images it
requires.

GNS3 can use not only Dynamips but also QEMU, so maybe it can be useful
without external bits?
