Worksforme (from a foreign workstation) so there is something strangely wrong with either your internet connection or yum metadata. Do yum clean all and try again. But it worked on my on another F-9 x86_64 system, so there is no problem from the repository side (unless random network breakage). Nicolas (kwizart)

There doesn't seem to be any packages in rpmfusion except for in devel (f10). If I try to do the above on a F9 system, using [rpmfusion-free-devel] name=RPM Fusion for Fedora $releasever - Free failovermethod=priority baseurl=http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/development/x86_64/os #mirrorlist=http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=rpmfusion-free- f$releasever&arch=$basearch enabled=0 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora This fails: --> Missing Dependency: libx264.so.58()(64bit) is needed by package ffmpeg- compat-0.4.9-0.47.20080225.lvn9.x86_64 (installed) vlc-core-0.9.3-1.fc10.x86_64 from rpmfusion-free-devel has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libgnutls.so.26(GNUTLS_1_4)(64bit) is needed by package vlc-core-0.9.3-1.fc10.x86_64 (rpmfusion-free-devel) v --> Missing Dependency: libx264.so.58()(64bit) is needed by package ffmpeg- compat-0.4.9-0.47.20080225.lvn9.x86_64 (installed) vlc-core-0.9.3-1.fc10.x86_64 from rpmfusion-free-devel has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libgnutls.so.26(GNUTLS_1_4)(64bit) is needed by package vlc-core-0.9.3-1.fc10.x86_64 (rpmfusion-free-devel)

Using it for everthing else (e.g., > amarok). Any ideas? > Well, it just works for me. your PA seems broken... did you tried with pulseaudio -k && pulseaudio -D The vlc-0.9.3 for F-9 is available from my kwizart-testing repository (built for rpmfusion) , there is a plan to have it for F-8 also (once few build error will be fixed from the fedora side - exemple: rarian). That been said, I clearly don't plan to have the 0.9.x serie in F-8 (maybe F-9). There is still more or less severe regression that will not be fixed until 1.0.0 serie (specially the VLM). Nicolas (kwizart) ps: for those who have rpmfusion set up. rpm -ivh http://rpms.kwizart.net/kwizart-release-9.rpm yum --enablerepo=kwizart-testing update vlc vlc-core mozilla-vlc
vlc f9
I rebuilt vlc-0.9.3-1 (from rpmfusion devel) on F9. Built OK, but no sound. I get: [0429] pulse audio output error: Failed to connect to server: Connection refused [0429] pulse audio output error: Pulse initialization failed *** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused My pulseaudio should be working fine. Using it for everthing else (e.g., amarok). Any ideas?
