[rt-users] RT 3.6.11 CLI and externalauth

2013-06-06 Thread John Bartelt

Hello. I realize RT 3.6.11 is pretty old at this point, but I'm
hoping someone may have an answer for this. I recently tried to
use the CLI 'rt' command, and authentication is not working. We
use external authentication with our installation. I'm sure the
CLI was working for us in the distant past (may have been RT 3.0.x).

Currently, though, after prompting for the password, it always says
rt: Incorrect username or password.

I do have test instances for 3.8.x and and 4.0.x, and those versions
of 'rt' work, because I set 'externalauth' to 1. But the 3.6
version of 'rt' doesn't support that option. If I try to use the 3.8
version of 'rt' CLI with the 3.6.11 installation, authentication
succeeds, but it never finds any tickets, e.g., for valid 'list'
requests. No matches found. So I assume there is some mismatch there.

I turned on debugging and it looks like the initial authentication
succeeds, but no cookie is created/stored, and so any further
interaction is blocked.

I also tried backporting 'externalauth' to the 3.6.1 'rt', but
haven't gotten it to work.

Any help or hints appreciated.

Ugh, it's try to be faithful to the new menu system. If you are up to
it I can talk you through removing those lines from the plugin so you
can configure your 30 queues.

I just deleted the block:
 /Admin/Elements/ToolTabs,
 current_tab = 'Admin/Tools/RightsMatrix/',
 current_subtab = 'Admin/Tools/RightsMatrix/AssetCFRightsMatrix.html',
 Title=$Title

from each of the files that had it, and that worked, AFAICT,
thought the page formatting is not pretty. Any better
solution(s)?

Well, I found a fix. I reverted to the original version of
Ticket/Elements/ShowTransaction . I guess some of these
mods were already applied to the later 3.6 releases?

[rt-users] [Rt-announce] RT for Mobile Devices 0.9

... We've only
tested this on a recent RT 3.8, but it _should_ work on older versions
of RT.

I'd like to try it with our 3.6.6 installation. The instructions say:

Add RT::Extension::MobileUI to your /opt/rt3/etc/RT_SiteConfig.pm file
Set(@Plugins, qw(RT::Extension::MobileUI));

Is that supported in 3.6? I went ahead and tried it.
Here's the error message when I try to go to /m:

System error
error: Can't locate object method Config via package RT at
/opt/rt3.6.6/share/html/m/index.html line 4.

4: /
5:

Any help in getting this to work appreciated.

I only see reports of problems with self-signed certs.
We have a real certificate.

Rather than port the app to Android (which version anyway), he should first
fix the iPhone version.
As a first step, it would probably be easier to create a special stylesheet
to create the illusion of an app.

Yes, my first thought was that a mobile stylesheet might make
it easier to use RT on a mobile device. It could be done on
the server side, rather than the client (but then it's not an
app you can sell).

[rt-users] Multiple attachments error

Hi,
I've seen this question asked before, but have not seen a definitive
reply yet so thought it worth asking again.

We have an intermittent issue regarding attachments, and it seems to
happen more often when users are including multiple attachments. The
error message is as follows:

read-open /tmp/husk4zilgH : No such file or directory at
/usr/share/perl5/MIME/Body.pm line 435.

We're running RT 3.6 on an Ubuntu server. The /tmp folder is owned by
the correct user and permissions are 700.

This codepath got ~entirely reworked for RT 3.8 due to just this issue.
If you can bring your test system up to current to verify the fix
locally, you _should_ it working better.

This problem has just shown up for us. We are running RT 3.6 and
can not move to 3.8 right now. We did just move from RHEL 3 and
apache 1.3 to RHEL 5 and apache 2.2. What I see is that the /tmp
file is only created when you click the Add More Files button,
so if you do them one at a time, it will work. The /tmp files
just disappear, they are not being overwritten. When the server
is busy, they disappear in a minute; when less busy, maybe 5 minutes.
So maybe it has something to do with processes exiting and taking
their temp files with them?

Any further help with would be appreciated.

Jesse, your fix was not attached to the email to the list (scrubbed).
At least, I didn't get it the digest. I also don't see it
on web archive (just the pgp sig).

Could please send it 'inline', or to me directly?

thanks, John
