As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier. While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated, "You must be single." Bryant Drive on Wednesday morning, striking Bryant-Denny Stadium and almost hitting restaurant Rama Jama 's. Officers with the UA Police Department declined to release the victim's name, but The Tuscaloosa News was able to confirm that Patrick Eades, a sophomore from Hoover, was injured in the one-vehicle accident. Eades crashed his Lexus at about 5:50 a.m. Wednesday. There were no passengers. He was taken by ambulance to DCH Regional Medical Center and later transferred to UAB Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman at UAB said Eades was listed in good condition Wednesday afternoon, but she could not divulge the nature of his injuries. UAPD Deputy Chief Mark Shockley said the driver had a hip injury. Shockley said the driver lost control of his car while traveling west on Bryant Drive.
