[RollTideFan] Re: All Time Favorites
Off the top of my head, might change with more thought... OFFENSE: Jay Barker: all he did is win. Not the fastest, strongest, or most talented, but had enough heart and leadership to carry a team. IMHO, epitomizes what it means to be a BAMA football player. Shaud Williams: see above, and add in that he had a chance to transfer without restriction but chose to stay at Bama. (Honorary mention: Pat Trammel: Coach Bryant's favorite all-time player. Similar to Jay Barker; died tragically at a young age). DEFENSE: George Teague:- again, athletic but not the most talented, had desire to make plays and used that and heart to excel. (Tie) Bisquit and DT: Two who excelled athletically and in the community-service area. (Honorary mention: the entire 2002 team that had a chance to transfer without penalty from the NCAA and stayed to play at Alabama) Special Teams: Lane Bearden: pluck, heart, courage - words don't express what this young man had. Assistant Coach: Gene Stallings (had to put him her to sneak him into the list) Head Coach: Paul Bryant ___ RTF mailing list RTF@rolltidefan.net http://rolltidefan.net/mailman/listinfo/rtf_rolltidefan.net

[RollTideFan] Thoughts on UNC - BAMA-related (really!)
While reading one of the hundreds of newspaper stories here in NC about the game last night, I came across this section. Tell me if it reminds you of a certain football team: -- "North Carolina is a tradition-rich program making its 16th appearance in the Final Four, an NCAA record. It came into Monday's game with three NCAA championships the last in 1993 but has gone through plenty of frustration, change and turmoil in the years since. There have been four trips to the Final Four, but all ended with a loss in the national semifinals. There was the retirement of legendary coach Dean Smith in October 1997, an announcement that started a six-year period of instability in the program that included an 8-20 record under Matt Doherty in 2002. A year after that debacle, Doherty resigned in an ugly public split with the university. But with the hiring of Roy Williams Smith's assistant of 10 years and a graduate of the university in April 2003, North Carolina fans felt they finally had the right guy to bring the program back in line with its storied tradition." -- I can't wait for football season to get here!!! I suspect not all of them are from the aubies and the viles. I hate to think a BAMA fan would stoop that low, but ... At any rate, it is what it is. If we get enough legetimate signatures that I feel it is worthwhile, I'll still forward it to the Administration with a note. > > From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: 2005/03/31 Thu PM 06:58:58 EST > To: > Subject: Re: RE: [RollTideFan] Press release > > Nicely written Rusty! > > However It appears that fskin' aubies and viles have decided to act like > their worthless slefs. > > http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?uavsdm&1 > > click on "View Signatures" > :-( > > kurt > > > ___ RTF mailing list RTF@rolltidefan.net http://rolltidefan.net/mailman/listinfo/rtf_rolltidefan.net

Re: Fw: [RollTideFan] test
Sorry to spoil it for you, Joe, but this is a hoax. See http://www.snopes.com/religion/einstein.asp for details. A word of caution - just because you read it on the internet does *not* mean it's true. Speaking of which, did you see where Coach Shula is never going to coach a game at Bama again? It must be true - I got it from a friend who has a friend on an email list who knows someone who works part time with the wife of the janitor in the athletic department...
