Yeah, I don't blame you there. My policy insures me on anything when my vehicle is in the shop. Joe The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. All that wouldn't have happened if you drove a nice AMERICAN made Toyota or Nissan truck. Them dayum cheap imported Fords are gonna be the downfall of this nation. That definitely defines a "bad day", brother. I think I'd take out a loan and forget the damb insurance deal. That way your neighbor doesn't have a claim filed against his policy. My policy rates went through the roof about a year ago after I got a fscking speeding ticket and my daughter accidentally broke out the rear glass on our van. RMc. kurt rasmussen wrote: My van is in the shop, and on the way to work my car broke down. Lucky me it was only at the end of my little country lane, and my neighbor pla let me borrow his farm truck today. So I get to work OK. It's an old truck, 180K+ on the odometer. Ford. F-150 straight shift. It was a bit of a challenge. The clutch, as is the case with all stick shifts, is peculiar to that vehicle. Once started from a standing stop, the shifting wasn't that much of a problem. A couple two/three high rev/ jerky shifts and some such. No big deal. well... So I get ready to leave work. It's parked in a lot directly facing a Dodge Ram (of much newer lineage). The lot is on a bit of a hill and I was hell bent that I wasn't going to roll forward while backing up. Unfamiliar with the clutch and all. So I throw my right arm over the seat and look back. Put it in reverse (SIC) and tach that bitch up pretty good. Letter rip!! WHOOP!!1! The damn thing didn't die! Only one minor problem. If, in 15 of the last 20 years of your life you drove a stick shift Chrysler product, and you want to go backwards, you slide the shifter to to the left, and push it forward. If, in the most recent day of your life you drive your Neighbors borrowed F-150 and you attempted the same shifter pattern... well.. I LAUNCHED BABY! BINGO! HEAD SHOT! Nailed that damn Dodge dead nut! End result: Another scratch on a farm truck bumper. New bumper needed on a newer lineage Dodge truck needed. Damnit. btw, I call my insurance company to report it. Turns out the Bama's bassakward laws sez that the vehicle, not the driver, is primarily responsible for damages. I'm supposed to tell my kind, gracious neighbor to file a claim to pay for the damage I did? What in the hell is up with that?! DOUBLE DAMNIT! kurt __ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! Wear a cup!" I paid the other guys insurance off in payments. ouch Joe The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings.
