[rtl] module versioning bug

2001-02-20 Thread frank mori hess

Hi,

Unless I'm doing something stupid, it seems that rtlinux 3.0 final does
not define MODVERSIONS and include modversions.h when the kernel is
compiled with module versioning on. From the makefile, it looks like this
only happens for i386 and the problem is with scripts/cflags.mk or
scripts/Makefile? It worked fine for me with pre9 but I noticed there
have been some changes since then.

[rtl] root id

2001-02-20 Thread Frederic Cazenave

Last week I have posted a question concerning the lost of my root
privilege
after installing rtlinux modules. I can summary all my mail with hofrat
( Der Herr Hofrat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ), thanks to him, as following :

I have installed this files :
521612 -rw-r--r--1 root root 19090206 Feb 14 20:56
linux-2.2.18.tar.gz
521622 -rw-r--r--1 root root   450860 Feb 16 15:10
rtlinux-3.0.tar.gz

then patch linux with kernel_patch-2.2 and build the new rtlinux image

when I reboot my machine and logged as root my id is

[root@xport /root]# id
uid=0(root) gid=0(root)
groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),6(disk),10(wheel)

After installing all the modules of rtlinux my effective id changes :

uid=0(root) gid=0(root) euid=4294967295
groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),6(disk),10(wheel)
(here there is no possibility to bring down the system propely !!)

If I remove all the rt modules my id goes back to the original

uid=0(root) gid=0(root)
groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),6(disk),10(wheel)

Rigth now I didn't find any solution

[rtl] Re: [realtime] [ANNOUNCE] Adaptive Domain Environment for Operating Systems

2001-02-20 Thread Karim Yaghmour

I've set up a sourceforge project for Adeos:
http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/adeos

There's also a development mailing list which can be found here:
http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/adeos-devel

There's also some code here:
ftp://ftp.opersys.com/pub/Adeos/Adeos.tgz

Be aware that this code will certainly crash your machine. It
is an attempt to drive Linux into ring-one, but it is not
functionnal. You've been warned.

Feel free to join in the discussion.

Best regards,

[rtl] unresolved symbol

2001-02-20 Thread Bas Benschop

Hi,

Today I tried to install rtlinux-3.0 on a Debian 2.2 system (kernel
2.2.18) with 2 processors and SMP enabled. Builds without any problem but
when I try to insmod rtl.o I get the message:

rtl.o: unresolved symbol rtlinux_suspend_linux_init
rtl.o: unresolved symbol rtlinux_suspend_linux_cleanup

What can be wrong?

[rtl] No kernel image after compiling RTLinux v3.0

2001-02-20 Thread Ivan Martinez

Hello:
I don't know if anybody had the same problem, since the mailing list
search doesn't seem to work. I'm trying to install
rtlinux_kernel_2.4.0-test1-rtl following the steps described in
rtlinux_.../README, but after compiling my GRUB boot loader reports that
neither rtlinux_.../vmlinux nor rtlinux_.../arch/i386/boot/zImage are
known executable formats. Does anybody know what is wrong?. What does
"test1" mean, isn't this an stable version?. Thank you.
