Why are you not able to use contains in Guvnor? IIRC it is a supported operator on the Guided Rule Editor, Guided Template Editor and Guided Decision Table. It's getting so that even Drools' very own developers loose track of what is implemented and what not. Operator contains can also be applied to Strings.
