[sage-devel] Fwd: SAGE Mac OS X DMG

2007-01-31 Thread William Stein

Hi,

Could sage developers who *want* their emails listed at
http://sage.math.washington.edu/sage/ack.html
please email me and say so? Also, let me know if I should
change/update that page.

Hello,
I didn't know who to contact about this, but you were the only email
address on the list of developers I found. I'm 15 years old and I
started using SAGE this morning and I think it is an excellent open
source, Mac OS X-native program that I can use to mess around with
when I don't have homework.

At the bottom of page
http://sage.math.washington.edu/sage/doc/html/inst/node3.html it
mentions Obviously we should distribute .dmg files for OSX. The only
reason we currently don't is a combination of laziness and that nobody
has stepped up to the plate to provide them. Volunteers welcome!!

You may have found a volunteer! I have packaged the DMG as well as
updating the installation instructions, and can upload it to somebody
at any time.

Thanks,
Mac Davis

[sage-devel] Re: dsage docstring

2007-01-31 Thread Iftikhar Burhanuddin

Hey what docstrings were not available? When I type dsage? I get a
docstring, as well as dsage.server? and dsage.worker?

Yi,

My opinion was that Release early, release often is great but one should
keep an key on documentation and testing. In particular, my concerns were
as follows (and not as stated above):

1. the nodoctests phrase appearing at the beginning of the dsage/dsage.py
file

2. tab completion does not bring up DistributedFactor

3. the lack of examples in the docstrings

It became apparent during your talk and the discussion which followed that
#2, #3 will be addressed in the immediate future.

Regards,
Ifti

[sage-devel] Re: look and feel of SAGE website

2007-01-31 Thread Timothy Clemans

Hi everyone!

I've done more work on my design idea including a box on the right
about the SAGE notebook.

Would you be interested in having me try to develop this look more and
start putting together an actual web site using this style?
