I have to admit I would have been caught by this in any case; Sage 4.0 has been out for a long time, before the deprecation policy, and I should have checked ahead of time. But it did look unprofessional in class today when I tried to use "quadratic_nonresidue" on an old worksheet and it didn't work! See http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/5834 - I actually think the new name is an improvement in any case :-)
So just a reminder that (especially, not exclusively) things imported into the global namespace should have some deprecation period if removed.
